Yes, Ruth, you see it so clearly. Lisa's writing always echoes, "Everything in the script is there for a reason." Everyone complained so bitterly about the spit in the initiation in season one but as we see in the end of season two, Wille spits out, on August, all the crap August has made him swallow from the very beginning.

2024-02-17 17:38:50 +0000 UTCAlex, I think Simon was angry with the guys because they were celebrating Wille making out with a GIRL specifically and also he’s angry and hurt with Wille because he hasn’t moved on, he’s just trying to distract himself with Markus. There are all sorts of signs that he has no intention of forming a serious relationship with Markus and later in this episode, you see that very clearly, in the way he turns his back on Markus to get changed in his bedroom, in the comment about his fish, ‘They don’t have names’, because he’s protecting his memory of Wille being there in his room in that really intimate scene. The fish don’t have names for Markus, only for Wille. 🫠 He doesn’t even kiss Markus back at the ball, it’s Markus kissing Simon, Markus trying to manipulate him into staying the night and Markus only turning up in the first place in order to police Simon at the ball because he knew Wille would obviously be there. Simon’s also a messy teenager who is making mistakes and finding it difficult to navigate his own emotions. I’m pretty ancient now, but I can still relate! 😂
