The full name for Bangkok is "Krung Thep Mahanakhon Amon Rattanakosin Mahinthara Ayuthaya Mahadilok Phop Noppharat Ratchathani Burirom Udomratchaniwet Mahasathan Amon Piman Awatan Sathit Sakkathattiya Witsanukam Prasit" which translates too "City of Angels, Great City of Immortals, Magnificent City of the Nine Gems, Seat of the King, City of Royal Palaces, Home of Gods Incarnate, Erected by Vishvakarman at Indra's Behest" it's recognized as the longest place name in the world by the Guinness book of world records

Like in Kinnporsche the actor for porches name is Nattawin Wattanagitiphat however he goes by Apo because their full names are hard to pronounce especially for foreigners and sometimes even for themselves. So their names most likely aren't actually Mew and Top but that's just what they go by so it's easier to pronounce. Now some names might be their characters actual names like Boston and Nick but most of the ones that sound interesting or like they wouldn't be a name are just nicknames

2025-04-10 10:33:36 +0000 UTCIMO the Korean BLs are much better. Specifically the newer ones. My top 3 are the Eighth Sense, Love in the Big City and To My Star - in that order. I totally recommend watching one of these (or all of them?). The only really good Thai BL is I Told Sunset About You. That series is a masterpiece on par with the Korean BLs I mentioned.

Even the side characters have been stacked with decent actors. The ones who play Nick, Boston, Boeing, Gap, Dan; roll them out in any show, any genre, any character & they always deliver

2025-04-08 09:30:35 +0000 UTCA Crash Course Of BL oddities and tropes that only happen in BL's 1. The mains falling accidentally and somehow end up doing an accidental "kiss". 2. When it rains in Thailand (mainly) and you get caught in that rain and soaked you then become feverish and have to have your friend/boyfriend wipe your body down with cool water. 3. For some reason when a person goes to bed in BL's (to sleep) they always seem to leave the lights blazing in their apartments/house/abode. 4. To dry their hair after a shower they use towels, very seldom do you see a blow dryer being used. 5. An apartment or a flat is called a "room" in Thailand. 6. They tend to use very bad wigs that look fake and a mess. 7. Fan Service is a thing in BL's. Mostly for fun but there are toxic fans who go too far and ruin it for everyone. End up pissing off the actors/production company and the real fans. 8. A good majority of the BL's are set in University, High School, Business offices, Historical settings. Every once in a while something breaks through the Uni, High, Bus molds and becomes a best seller so to speak (eg. Kinn Porsche) or will have a mixture of these settings in one BL. 9. There is always Product Placement…always. I am sure there are more if you have one or two or twelve add them to the list. An informed Alex and Josh is a good thing when it comes to Thai BL's, or any BL's...no matter the country.

Also here is some information to keep in mind while watching this show and as you venture further in Thai BL. This show will give you your first introduction to the juggernaut of BL production: GMMTV. GMMTV is basically the Disney of Thai TV studios, they are a huge conglomerate and the biggest producers of Thai BL releasing on average between 5-7 BLs every year with many more in the pipeline. Most of the shows on the poll are GMMTV series (Bad Buddy, Moonlight Chicken, Not Me, and Only Friends). You will also notice if you check out the other shows from the poll that many of the actors in Only Friends show up as well with just the main pair swapping out. This is because GMMTV collects actors like Pokemon and has a huge catalogue of regular BL actors that work together over many years creating what are called ‘Branded Pairs’ or CP. Mew and Top (Played by Book and Force) are examples of this and have acted together as a romantic pair several times in various shows over the years. Something you have to realise is that unlike LGBTQ+ content in western countries where the budgets can be more limited or are only released on specific streaming services or niche platforms, that is not true in Thailand. In recent years GMMTV has put a lot of money into BL productions because they have become a large part of Thai tourism and economy. These BL shows are playing at normal hours weekly on tv channels after things like the news. And BL actors are not nobodies, they have large celebrity presence in Thailand and abroad hosting fan meets that draw hundreds to thousands of people and they are in advertisements and brand partners all over Thailand. While there is still stigma to be in BL, it’s not the same as it tends to be for western actors (Though fandom culture is a beast of its own thing). There is a lot more to get into but here is a quick notes starter hopefully and if you have any questions the BL channel on discord is always happy to help :)
