A change from Patreon

Hey Patrons,

So I received an email from Patreon a moment ago, and they are doing a little change with how tiers work.  I've provided what they sent, and it doesn't seem like a big deal.  It has to do with how tiers work, and how they are now set by name instead of dollar amount.  Here is the info, and if this effects you negatively, they say you can switch back to the dollar amount pledge like we've always had.  I think the biggest change will be that I won't be spamming the highest pay tier patrons with all the lower tiers as I post them.  But anyway...let me know if you have any issues.

The email...

Dear creator,

We’re writing to let you know about an upcoming product change that will give you more control over how you set access to your posts. Since this may affect some of your patrons, we wanted to give you a heads up.

With this update, you’ll set post access by selecting tiers instead of dollar amount, so you can post exclusively to patrons in one tier, instead of that tier and everyone above it.

For example, you could set access to a post exclusively to your “$20 tier,” instead of “$20 and up.”

This change will take effect on November 7th, and allows for the following major improvements to making posts on Patreon:

Important note: this update will affect future access to posts for your patrons who selected “no reward,” and for patrons who pledge more than the tier they originally selected (e.g., those that pay $15 for a $10 tier).

If these patrons want to continue seeing your posts according to the dollar amount they're paying, they simply need to update their settings to sign up for the tier they want to be in. Patrons can sign up for their desired tier by visiting: https://patreon.com/pledges

Since we know how important it is that we don't contact patrons on your behalf, we provided sample messages and instructions for messaging these patrons in this Help Center article.

Thanks for the Information

That’s how I understand it.

So basicly, it gives creators more freedom on the rewards and tiers from what I understand ? So, it doesn't change anything unless you do it manually, right ?
