EWMTBAG Update

Hey everyone,

No game update this month. I've been working on doing some bug fixes and sorting out some of the issues that have been raised by patrons in comments and DMs and it seems to be running fine. Hopefully there won't be as many issues arising with the game saves from previous versions but there's no guarantees there.

Really what I want to update you all on is that continuing development of the game is becoming increasingly difficult. All of the stuff I had to keep track of at the start of development was quite small, there weren't many characters or choices etc. Now, with about 40 days of choices and conversations, there are a lot of variables to keep track of. I'm reaching a state where I'm working on the game sometimes instead of sleeping and that's not going to be maintainable forever.

To be honest, I almost cancelled the whole thing to focus on the comics. I'd still be producing a SlowTG update for the month but it would be a comic instead of the game. However, after chatting with some of the patrons I've decided to back off from that and offer a compromise that I think should work for everyone.

Making the SlowTG caps last year took a few days a month to produce. Making the game is taking almost all month. In order for it to work at current output, the price is either going to have to increase massively to reflect the work I'm putting in, or the amount of output is going to have to change.

What I'm proposing is 1 day's worth of content coming out each month, with the game taking about a year to finish at that rate of development. Occasionally I might add new features in a month rather than new content, i.e. memory and photo galleries, music etc. That should bring the work down to manageable levels and mean I'm not going to burn out.

I hope you can understand where I'm coming from, but I'm a one person team, I still work full time and this is all supposed to be a fun side project I do in my spare time. Right now it's taking over my life and I don't want to reach a point where I have to shut it down.
