Have you ever purchased one of my premium comics over at TGComics.com?

If so, what did you think of them?

Was it good value for money?

Was there anything I could improve?

Comments

I think identity loss is, well, lame. It's like killing one character and creating another. It's too easy. I love it when it's more nuanced. Like when a character takes on feminine traits while still remembering who they were. Takes a talented story teller do pull it off, but that's what I think you are.

Easy B

This is good news. I must have misread it or got confused with another story.

Raistlin Majere

Haha who said they weren't getting continued? Both of them are definitely getting continued! The end of The Patron even said the characters would return. They're getting continued dude

Tom Reynolds

I purchased Quest Failed and The Patron. I liked both and my only complaint is that there won’t be sequels or continuations of the stories. I think there’s definitely room for sequels.

Raistlin Majere

Yeah, I've been meaning to.

That's actually a good point about the man always shrinking. Having them either get bigger or stay the same size should be more common. Maybe that's part of what I like about bustier, strong women are attractive. As long as it doesn't get to 80s Schwarzenegger with boobs in terms of looks, having them maintain more physical traits of their male form or gain in size (in the right places) is a nice change of pace

Maybe part of the issue with Quest Failed is that it got released at the beginning of 2022, but it was written and mostly rendered in Jan 2021 and then I farted about for months on other stuff and it was an older comic made with older assets etc. The script was fun but I can do better. The Patron was a commission and had specific requirements around the story, so that's also a thing. Thanks for the kind words, your time and sub is important to me :)

Tom Reynolds

No problem. Hope it is constructive. I want to add that even the comics I am more critical of are still definitely worth the price of admission and I have never regretted any of the support or purchases I have made. I wish I could say the same of some other content creators on this platform, but your consistency is definitely appreciated.

That's a really lovely and thoughtful post. Please never hesitate to message me on here or whatever if you want to talk comics. I'm so glad you took the time to write all that out

Tom Reynolds

They were all fine. Maybe personal preference, but I've preferred the patreon work you've done. The tg parody stuff of established franchises has been hit or miss for me, but the hits have been big. I've found the patreon comics to be more creative in feel. VR sci-fi and high fantasy perhaps have become too familiar, I suppose. I like to see more untread high concept stuff. Tgtrinity's analogue was a personal favorite of mine (at least until the ending meandered into strange territory) which I thought was a unique twist on the multiverse/vr/shared self idea. I think the ones that you make with the more attention grabbing elevator pitches tend to be more interesting to me. Another issue is that I felt sort of a lack of escalation in the non-patreon comics. The high fantasy worlds are set up and the obligatory (and desired) sex scene occurs but the personal aspect doesn't feel like it evolved. The situation changes but I don't feel much like the characters are being psychologically or emotionally challenged (transnet excepted). Bustier, wife's fiance, when I'm alone, all have great internal struggle. Pantheon had the mental override (which is a personal kink of mine when done a certain way) but the character change created a new struggle for the people around the commander which compensated for the end of the internal struggle the commander was no longer feeling at the time. I think future stories could benefit from more personal struggle dealing with self or their self in relation to the world around them, or have the world around the character struggle and evolve in reaction to the character. I apologize for the word vomit and want to emphasize that your stories do tend to cover these things I find to be lacking, I just believe they could benefit from making them more prominent. Also, all this stuff is obviously very personal in preference and my critiques have about as much weight as those who read them want them to have. So feel free to disregard or consider as you see fit. I am a big fan of the work that you do and hope you keep at it with as much dedication as you have

Good job I'm doing a part 2 of werewoman then in about 10 days

Tom Reynolds

I like fighting personalities. Jekyll Hyde situations. Moments where the female side gets to let loose. Whether they win or lose total control in the end doesn't factor into the preference as long as we get to the stronger female self have her time. That's part of why I voted for werewoman to be continued

idegoido

When you say mental changes do you mean like "suddenly liking guys now" or more like having a new personality? I dont really do changes where the person loses their identity

Tom Reynolds

I’d love to see you do a few more transformations with mental changes, and perhaps less superhero stuff. Pink Letter is my favorite.

Easy B

Second reply since you edited the message haha. I've got a Werewoman comic I finished a few months ago which I'm continuing in a couple weeks, that fits the bill of a lot of what you're talking about. I've also got a few Star Trek comics that are like that too :)

Tom Reynolds

Thanks dude, sequel to My Not So Perfect First Time coming in a few months actually

Tom Reynolds

I have. It was well done, but a lot of artists will do one or two things I prefer they didn't in just about any story. I prefer tall busty curvy women, blonde and redhead (Merida), but artists often have men shrink into a woman instead of growing into them from say 5'7" to 5'10" or 5'11". I would enjoy seeing a werewoman or succubus story even though some people claim it's cliché; if a succubus, let him shapeshíft a little (maybe even go temp futa for a hot chick, then return to normal for a guy in the same scene) , but cannot escape having larger bust and long hair, and if a werewoman, he retains his mind just gets urges to find a man as it were. I would rather the man, despite the changes being unwelcome, not be so moody, angry, etc, or closeted cross dresser. Just a regular guy, or even make him a computer programmer, who tries to make do stoicly, but struggles to control the new urges, wishes for it to be u doen, and when it can't, make peace with it, and adapt. Put the guy into a typical nerdy occupation for a bit of variety. Maybe a star trek like setting where the Orions change a guy into a woman to be a honey pot to steal info (with hair and eye color change, strength, healing, pheromone control etc), but gets rescued by his fleet, and now has to deal with his new gender. I could write up a more coherent story pitch for you if you weren't busy.
