As I said at the beginning of the month, from now one I'll also be adding the updates I do on "The Dragon and the Lemur" webcomic patreon on this one as well. While I already shared the art, I'll also be sharing the high resolution pages.
I know this looks very random and a lot of people have no idea what is even "The Dragon and the Lemur", so allow me to explain.
The Dragon and the Lemur (D.a.L for short) is a web manga drawn by me and scripted by me and a friend called Vincent. It started 10 years ago, and it all came from a silly roleplay me and Vincent did back when we were still teenagers; it was all for fun and we didn't expect the rp or the manga to turn into all of this. Though we no longer roleplay, we have finished the general idea of how the script is meant to go; it's technically finished, only requiring dialogue and action, but the whole comic's plot is already figured out. While Vicent has drawn a couple of pages at first, I am currently the only author and the only artist. Vicent has given me complete free reign over the project and trusted me with his characters and how to bring them to life.
This comic/manga started in September 2005 (11 years old!!!!!) and though there were times I wasn't actively updating it, it has been running for over 10 years now. It's very long, over 1000 pages, and during it you will see the progress of not only art, but also grammar and overall maturity of the comic. This is the reason why the first chapters look and also feel different from the latest chapter; the comic grew with my experience and it's constantly changing with it.
Art isn't really my job; I'm a veterinarian (unemployed). I certainly do a lot of freelancer artwork which definitively pays a lot of my bills, but what I do is mostly for fun. This comic is my personal fun project and so it's free. I have no plans on ever making it a paid comic, and I do not have plans on publishing it with a serious company (I don't think anyone would accept it anyway). It's free and it'll remain so; it's for fun (mine and yours) and it'll remain so. For all of these reasons, hiatus are expected and the updating frequency might change as well.
As for content, Vicent and I actually never planned to show beyond what the main couple - Hakakku and Chain - did. It was meant to be a yaoi comic (which means it's focused on a male homossexual couple) and focus on that; politics, violence, other couples, that wasn't really in the plan. Nowadays, I guess can call it yaoi, but it's more than that. It mentions many kinds of couples, it has many kinds of sex scenes, and its explicit content has moved beyond just male/male relationships. Plus, it does have violence and in some chapters, the gore might even be excessive. The political intrigue was lightly touched by us while we discussed the elements that made up this world, but I have to admit lately, I've studied a lot of politics from many different years and places, to come up with something complex for D.a.L. It has been fun, but tiring. The religion, though, this was something me and Vincent discussed from the very start and it actually makes up a lot of the world we created - even if it doesn't look like it.
This comic is NOT furry. While it contains anthro characters, these are rare and not the focus. The focus are humanoid characters - humans with animal characteristics. As such, I never uploaded it to furry art sites because it made no sense to be to have it there. However, as I do have people who read the comic and like my furry art as well, i don't think it's fair to keep force them to be part of two patreons to see the content of both. because this is my main patreon, this will contain from now on all the D.a.L patreon updates as well. The comic's patreon, however, contains ONLY D.a.L related art and updates and nothing more.
If you are interested in reading the comic, you can find it here.
For the comic's patreon, you can find it here.
Now that this HUGE tl;dr is done, this post contains all June updates for the comic! Chapter 19, page 11 to page 19.
