My laptop is dead but I'm not.

Hello guys and welcome to new people! 🌟

Here I am with finally an update on my current situation. Since some of you are new, I’ll make a brief summary of my story from last year and end with how things are going on now.

I am a Peruvian artist who studied graphic design but didn’t want to work in that field. After working my life out in a local animation studio for a couple years, I wanted to take the chance to study drawing/illustration more seriously and applied for a %50 scholarship in a Spanish art school. I got it and moved to Spain last year, by September. It has been a very stressful but rewarding adventure since then.

Adapting and finding my rhythm between school and work (freelance storyboard/animatic artist) was slow but I was getting into it and had stopped pausing Patreon a couple months ago, when an accident occurred with my laptop. After some weeks of uncertainty and taking it to revisions/repairs while occasionally borrowing friends’ laptops, I was finally told it was damaged beyond repair last week.

By that time, I had already a lot of work and, while I was able to finish the most urgent things, my situation made me take 3 times the time and effort it usually does. All this while trying not to let my studies and homework fall apart, but inevitably getting behind schedule. Through lasts week I managed to finally finish that thing, and the studio won’t be assigning me new projects until after Easter holidays. I have also been checking the options I have to get a new computer. Luckily, I have the support of my family for this emergency but I still have to work in order to pay them back and to pay school.

For the last couple days I rested a bit from this storm, it got me very burned out and with very little mind space to tend to anything else. On the plus side, I won’t have to deal with my job for a couple weeks which gives me more time to draw and paint. This of course will be focused on catching up with my delays. I’ll pause Patreon for April so I have time to do this and for taking some commissions.on traditional media next week, once all the sketches I wanted to do for you are done. Regarding MR, I’ll be working on pages traditionally, sketching the pages on pencil so I can ink them once I have a fully working computer again.

I'm working on a very slow computer a friend lent and I just downloaded SAI. I find it weird so far and I'm very slow, but if I managed to draw these doodles I think I can get used to it for the time being. Tomorrow I'll get acces to a new scanner as well, so I can show you what I've been working on :)
