Episode 4, Update #1

Hey all,

Got a nice and boring first dev update for ya'll!

I've forgotten what a hassle it is when you get a new rig. The new PC is up and running, but I have an annoying issue with my 4090 I didn't have before. The fans come on at random at full blast, but even when the temperature is low they remain at full blast and the noise is driving me insane. I'm trying to figure out what the problem with that is. I'm also copying over all the necessary project files, which is taking some time.

I'm almost done with the character modifications. I've also upgraded to UE5.2 which added some more improvements and fixed an annoying bug I lived with during the development of the previous episode. After making approx 3 renders, the 4th and any render after had the tendency to randomly restart and was a really annoying timewaster. Anyway, no more of that!

I've upgraded the renpy project to the latest version, surprisingly without issues. I foolishly updated renpy from version 7 to 8, right before the release of episode 2 at the beginning of this year... and it broke a lot of things I had to fix! This time, it seems not to have broken anything (so far!).

I've also started writing a guide and episode 1 is complete. I still have to finish episode 2 and 3, but it proves to be a lot of work with all the options I've given you in game.

Regarding the actual episode, I've come up with a plan as to where I want to take it. There's some really awesome ideas I have, but I'm not sure yet if they're actually viable. I need to do a lot of new environment work, as I plan to take you to some exotic locations. It's going to be very costly in both time and money, so we'll see once I've refined the scenes a bit more.

I didn't leave you with a massive and horrible cliffhanger this time, though I'm sure you're eager to see how it all will unfold!

Anyway, back to trying to fix this new PC and getting everything set up for now.
