2024-03-14 16:40:04 +0000 UTCI feel like most decisions up to that point that appealed to Alexa were evil, in the sense that they led to disappointment and emotional indifference towards your friends. So, after those decisions to go Alexas's path, it feels like further validating her course of action. We are not really exercising any moderating influence on her but reinforce her bad behavior. I've always been a fan of Alexa, but I feel like the game doesn't give us many means to get closer to her without embracing her destructive nature. Up to this point at least. I haven't really chosen her options, but that's what it felt like to me. Or maybe I haven't because it felt like this. You could say Alexa is so dominating that there is barely any room to insert our own ideas. That being said, I don't think Alexa is evil. She is a wounded animal that hits out at everything and everyone, but I get evil vibes from her path.

It is true, it is a main driving force to move the story in multiple different planned directions, but at the same time keeping it limited so that it's actually something I can make a reality without needing a team to create this. Humans mostly have their own thoughts and opinions on everything life throws at them, so taking this particular event as an example, there could have been many other ways the MC could have reacted. In fact, you will be presented with some of them in the coming release. Yet, they will still be limited to a certain extend because of what I just mentioned. I'd absolutely love to make it more granular and detailed, accounting for even more ways and possibilities, but it's very difficult to make that a reality as a single developer. How it will unfold in the future and how the MC will influence it, will be for you to find out. π

On the other hand I'd love to show Alexa that life is not just a matter of black and white and that she might have a choice other than the way of violence and survival of the fittest. I felt the choice was a let down for people either way and reminded me a bit of my first playthrough of "Acting Lessons" many, many years ago. On the one hand these tough decisions tigh you closer to some of the cast. On the other hand it leads me down a path I'd personally not have chosen to be on in the first place loosing either way, no matter what the choice. In real life that is one of the main reasons I try to find a common ground where all sides can come together instead of taking a harsh decision for one side and on the way alienating the other. Maybe this will open up going further into the story but I can easily see that it might not as division might be a driving force for the story progression. For me it would make me feel more connected to the MC if he had the potential to make strong connections to both sides and maybe even help bridge whatever it is that parts them for now.
