New Sprites? Please us know what you think.
Added 2021-10-15 04:54:40 +0000 UTCFor Prince of Suburbia: I spoke with auxiliaryout and we wanted to see what everyone thought of the idea of updating the sprites in the game. The sprites were initially created years ago and ScarlettAnn's artistic ability has improved significantly since then. You can see in the illustration with A from V0.5 that M's face has changed a fair amount since the original sprite was created.
I put an image together comparing the potential new sprite with the illustration already in the game from V0.5. I also put another image with the legacy sprite next to the same illustration for comparison purposes.
ScarlettAnn is continuing with new illustrations and this would not slow down development speed. We are considering replacing the older sprites and updating them to match what the illustrations are actually reflecting.
Also, auxiliaryout had an idea about potentially having "movie sprites" which are sprites that are more life-like because they are "moving" as though they are living, breathing, and blinking. I'm going to post a video file of M to let you see what you all think about that idea as well.

P.S.
We would likely allow players to choose to show legacy sprites or the new updated sprites depending upon what they prefer (assuming the new updated sprites idea polls well).
