I hope you are all doing well. This week had some exciting news on the audio front as Travis started recording book three. He really brings the characters alive. I had a particular accent in mind for Lir, and I hope it turns out like it is in my head. I guess we'll see. In any event, I know it will be great.
I've spent some time thinking about book titles this week, and I have a candidate. I'm interested in your opinion of it. I know it won't make the most sense as we haven't gotten to those chapters yet. But maybe that's better.
Anyway, I was thinking of this: The Fourth Name
Does that trigger your imagination? Is it too boring? I'm interested in your thoughts.
Anyway, let's get to the important stuff.
I opened up chapters 14 and 15 for Root.
I opened up chapters 16 and 17 for Harvester.
I added chapters 18 and 19 for Step Master, Blapy's Favorite, and Divine.

Of course, my first reaction was, “Wait, what were the first *three* secrets?!” So now I’m trying to catalog the three big reveals we’ve gotten so far (and there are certainly some doozies, but I feel like the context is probably limited to “Uru’s secrets”), wondering what the Fourth will be. *This* is definitely a title that’s stirring my imagination.

So I think I'm going to go with The Fourth Secret now. I'll talk about that in the next Saturday update, but how does that title strike you?

2020-09-28 23:22:08 +0000 UTCI feel like I’m going crazy, but I could have sworn that at one point you mentioned that you were considering “The Fourth Hand” as a title. I scrolled back in your updates for a bit but didn’t find it (it wasn’t an exhaustive search, and I didn’t look at comments), but I’ve seriously been operating under the notion that “The Fourth Hand” was the working title for four or five months now. (And it made perfect sense in my head, since we’ve only confirmed three Hands thus far, and I’ve spent months theorizing who the fourth might be!) That said, I *did* see where you’d once considered “A Third Name” as a working title for Uru’s Third Temple. Regardless, I think “The Fourth Name” evokes some mild curiosity, but it’s not as compelling as “Shade’s First Rule” or “The Second Betrayal.” Even “Uru’s Third Temple” stirred my imagination like a movie trailer might, because I was constantly wondering when said temple was going to show up (and for a long while, I thought that it might be the Iris itself). I’m still mentally stuck on “The Fourth Hand,” though. 😆

Also, as much as I loved book 3 I felt like the name kind of only came into play at the end. If this one is anything like that maybe something a bit different. But, you’re the author so do what you think is best :)
