General Devlog Jan 29th, 2024
Added 2024-01-29 20:21:59 +0000 UTCI've been told that some people prefer a transparent approach to my development, where I keep premium members updated with my goals and work allotment. I'm not a big studio, just one person with a few contractors and partners, but I like to keep a dialogue with my audience. Here's what's been going on so far in 2024.
Current Project Foci
-Monchin Merger
At the moment, development for Monchin Merger is in full swing. I've been hitting the drawing board with some new mechanics and assets. At the moment, the next big release will have a few key goals:
- More Demons to merge
- Cohesive art assets
- A new screen for training individual demons
- New minigames which will ask players to optimize their summons toward specific paradigms.
- Reworking the sidebar inventory to be a bit easier to use.
- Reworking resource menu for readability
- Adding in a use for marbles, most likely buying inventory slots and merge slots.
This list is subject to change, as I'm trying to keep development very fluid and optimized to get reasonable results. I'm hoping to only develop this project for a year or so, to keep the scope reasonable and the workflow smooth.
-Unannounced Visual Novel-
I'm currently directing and developing a project with another furry artist, Nolow. This project more closely follows the format I've made games in before learning unity. It focuses on traditional visual novel mechanics, rewarding closely reading text to achieve desired conclusions in the plot. It will feature nsfw and kink themes like much of my other work.
Development on this project is actually quite far along, we're currently editing the final version of the introduction script and finishing art assets! I'll be announcing more as we get near a release.
Choose Your Own Adventure (Unnamed)
This project is currently just a script reader, presenter, and locale navigation system. I've been playing with recreating the functionality of Quest, and expanding on them to include more graphical fidelity and better browser compatibility. It currently functions as a playground to work with materials and models.
There is some possibility I may write a short game in this playground to gauge interest in the format, but I'm keeping it in the background to give more focus toward other things.
Rapturous: Pit Raiders/Aphelion Drop
I'm tinkering with it, but I've decided the scope of this game and the asset requirements don't fit well with other more manageable projects. I hope to return to this and to Aphelion Drop (my vampire survivors-like) at a different point in time when funding isn't such an issue.
I've been learning Blender!
I'm taking some classes on Blender (3D modeling and rigging for games) and some remedial game design courses. I don't think you'll see much 3D from me for a while but it's fun to learn, we'll see where it goes!
If I've missed anything or you have any questions, I'm always open to answering them below!
Comments
I'm taking this courses through udemy! I've been very happy with the quality and flexibility.

2024-01-31 06:53:50 +0000 UTCI should clarify that I'm not working in Quest, I'm remaking the Quest engine in unity with my own twists.
