ZyArts Games Structural Update
Added 2024-11-02 20:00:37 +0000 UTCHey folks, this is a devlog about some upcoming changes from my home studio. We've had two big updates this month, and I am settled in after a lengthy personal hiatus, so I wanted to make a small post about my future plans.
-Future Projects-
As a solo developer, I often follow my own line of interest when producing games. I will pick ideas up, make small projects, shelve weeks of work, or scrap ideas that have already been in the pipeline. In the future, I'd like to be more transparent with what I'm developing and what will be available. That being said, I am only going to make projects that I personally enjoy working on- and that may sometimes be at odds with a consistent posting schedule.
Currently the main projects I want to focus on are my roguelike reimagining of Rapturous, and the visual novel Press To Struggle. My personal goal is to make both relatively competent and complete experiences within the next year and change.
-New Structure-
My business has been registered in the new state I moved to, and with that I've decided to shift much more heavily into a project-oriented schedule. In terms of commissions, I'll be offering fewer-to-none to consolidate more of my time toward my outstanding projects. I might open infrequently or offer some other way to get quick art from me, but this is necessary to keep my productivity consistent.
-What Your Support Does-
I draw, write, and program these games by myself with almost no input aside from a small group of volunteer bug testers. Making a game under these circumstances is difficult. Your support allows me to spend more time on my projects, and invest in assets I can't make myself, such as music.
I will continue to offer experimental releases and early access here on Patreon, but it's always a goal for me to make the things I create accessible to the public as well. If supporting financially is not viable for you, I am also very grateful for those who share my work or offer friendly/constructive feedback.
Thanks to everyone for the continued interest! When I left university I wasn't sure of my direction in life. Making games and art has been really fun and rewarding, I hope to continue doing it for a while longer.
Much love,
Zyyphelze
Comments
Commissions will still happen but they will be much less frequent, benefits will remain the same, otherwise.
