I hate Ron, he makes Hermione cry in every book. Plus, what he said about every witch/wizard who has gone bad being from Slytherin is just ignorant prejudice. I mean Quirrell was not a Slytherin, plus it is just not even logistically possible. That would mean that anyone who went to a different wizard school never went bad, or anyone who was sorted into another house at Hogwarts never went bad. I think it would be fun if you listened/reacted to the audio books (preferably the ones read by Stephen Fry)!

Lily's sacrifice protected Harry against Voldemort, which is why Quirrel couldn't touch him (because Quirrel was a vessle for Voldemort). When they explain it as 'love' it sounds weird, but when you think of it as protective magic as a result of an exceptionally rare scenario (Harry surviving Voldemort as a child), it feels pretty logical.

Great to watch the original UK version of Harry Potter. In America, it’s called the “The Sorcerer’s Stone” and not “The Philosopher Stone“. Around @ 1:55:15 into the movie, Hermione says “The Sorcerer’s Stone” in the American Harry Potter movie.
