Hes trying to figure out what's going on. And when he pulled that memory from his head he wasnt casting it away he was actually saving the memory of what harry said to him. In fact, she stayed up all night with Harry the night before the first task helping him master the summoning charm. So Idk why they made her stay away from Harry in the movie.

Thats why in the first movie when he put his hands on the guy with Voldemort on the back of his head, he burnt up. that was the spell harrys mum put on him to protect him. but they took Harrys blood in this episode to put in the pot, that revived Voldemort. That was there way of getting around the curse, and now he can touch him.

We learn that his parents were tortured by the very same curse at 2:00:35 which drove them insane. From this we can infer that Nevil was freaking out because he was probably thinking of how his parents suffered from the curse.
