Caesar started with his mom (who if I’m remembering correctly was being tested with the same Virus don’t exactly remember) and was killed trying to protect him and he was taken in to be raised by humans. The father was killed trying to protect his daughter who is messed up by if I’m correct the same virus and was taken in to be raised by apes. Though caesar is for apes to be for themselves he accepted what would be considered an outsider to his people like he was to humans.
