Story wise it does get better during season 3 as well. It’s best to think of the “Filoniverse” [Clone Wars > Bad Batch > Rebels > The Mandalorian > Boba Fett > Ashoka] as its own story and not necessarily as part of the movie saga. Because if you look at it as part of the movies’ story, then yes it is essentially filler. Basically after clone wars ends, the Filoniverse is basically made up of 100% original characters created by Dave Filoni and the crew so it is basically just a whole other story that is simply set in the same world as the movies.

And for the animations I watched the first few seasons from another reactor few months ago and I didn't notice the animation being bad but after watching the later seasons and going back to this I really do notice it.

Good thing is it’s an anthology series so you can pretty much stop here and start it up again when it gets good and you won’t have missed any story beats. Everything after season 2 is pretty good.
