Let's just say that season 1 skipped a LOT of development between kaneki and touka, she actually started to have some feelings for him a bit before he was taken by jason.

2022-09-03 17:39:05 +0000 UTCFor context on cannibalism, it does make a ghoul stronger much quicker, however it results in the ghoul losing their minds. If cannibalism continues for a ghoul, their kagune could evolve into a Kakuja, which is a much stronger and versatile version of their original kagune, if I recall correctly. (it should've been explained a bit more on Episode 1 of root A, but that was cut out from the manga I believe)
