Yeah I think Sakura really just underestimated how badly Naruto himself wanted to bring Sasuke back. She thought he was so bent on bringing him back bc of the promise he made to her bc that’s the first thing he brought up after he returned to the village after he and Sasuke fought. She felt like if she told Naruto she didn’t love Sasuke anymore and loved him instead, that that’s all it would’ve took for Naruto to drop the promise. Definitely not the best decision but I do understand the intention. Naruto had been putting himself in harms way to bring him back. Like she said he’s wanted by the Akatsuki and he needs to worry about himself. Sakura also didn’t wanna see Sasuke go further into darkness and die at the hands of other villages. That’s why she wanted to kill him herself. While his circumstances are fucked up, he’s still changing as a person and becoming generally colder like Karin said.
