2024-12-19 03:39:38 +0000 UTCBefore now I never watch this show past season 2, but I am determined to finish this with you even if I rip all of my hair out, and not just because of the show. Maybe there will be some big twist at the end of this disturbing mind-fu****** series, but so far from ep 1 to now my interpretation is that Rick is straight up the villain and Beth is a vain sociopath who would burn down the universe just to have her father in her life. I know that Jerry is an idiot and does dumb shit makes mistakes but honestly Beth has never respected or cared for him, or her own children, she only seems to care for Rick. Alot of the time Jerry (deservedly so) gets flack for his mistakes, but then when Rick and even Beth do much worse shit, you praise their character for it. In his severely limited way, Jerry at least tries to learn and do the right thing, but still gets shitted on, while Rick and Beth are absolute monsters and never change and act entitled to be shitty people and everyone should accept them for their horribleness while judging others (mostly Jerry) and never letting them live down any mistake made ever.

Also, what you were saying about Beth being like Rick is also what the Therapist was saying to them earlier - theyre using how smart they are to avoid taking accountability for their bad decision making. They both do this whole "theres a bigger issue more important than your feelings" thing so they dont have to apologize
