thats just untrue my guy, kid barry gets saved from the original flash that was fighting eobard in that room, that still happens regardless of what the barry that we've been following did in the past, his kid self was in 0 danger when our barry time traveled back, because the other future flash was there to save him, and he saved him again when barry went back and talked to his mother....if he saved his mom while the other flash was saving kid barry, its not like kid barry would suddenly just have a heart attack outside away from the fight

It’s not really that crazy, It’s a hard truth, but It’s the truth. Barry hasn’t had his mother for more than half his life and considering how crucial a mother’s influence is in a child’s development. The reason they were not there doesn’t change how much of a negative impact not having them around had on their development because it creates abandonment issues wether they meant to abandon them or not. Also Barry’s statement to iris is just another way of saying that she is his beacon whenever he is lost or struggling which we’ve seen in numerous episodes before now. The writing is very much cheesy soul mate in nature, but i still love it

This episode is basically the Speed Force teaching Barry that he is not all powerful and that the universe works in mysterious ways. That he has to accept the events as they happen instead of time traveling back to make everything perfect for his own benefit. You mess with time, it tends to mess back. This whole season takes place because Barry was understandably selfish for risking everything to go back and save his mom (not faulting him bc a majority of people would do the same, but from the Speed Force's perspective, he was). This is the Speed Force telling him that in order to be his best and most powerful self, to be the Flash again, he has to accept his mother's death and move forward in that reality. That there is nothing he can ever do to fix it without destroying himself. Hence why the future Flash that was there that night told S1 Barry to not do it. He had already learned that lesson
