2025-03-11 19:29:17 +0000 UTCThere’s no way of knowing it creates another timeline that’s just how mcu does it the more realistic way for time travel would be the flash explanation imo you do create a new timeline but that new timeline becomes the original timeline because there is no original timeline after that but then more realistically time travel wouldn’t create an alternate timeline it would keep us in the same timeline where let’s say you go back to kill Hitler the moment you do that you don’t exist you’ll fade/perish instantly and you’ll never know the repercussions from doing it because the you that went back didn’t have a reason to go back you may not even be born after changing the past depends if it was bad repercussions

In this case, I think that there is only one timeline no parallel timelines, hint hint wink wink. So it’s a straight line technically. Rory is the only one who can travel through it so in order for her to be her things need to happen the right way. So it’s not really a time loop where it repeats over and over, it’s still going straight because for Rory and everyone else things are still progressing and there is no repeat. Adult Rory and Baby Rory are on the same journey but on different parts of it. When baby Rory becomes an adult the events will either be the same or similar but for them that will be the first time, not a repeat.

2025-03-11 10:51:20 +0000 UTCTimeline theory pending...what if, the first time Lucifer left was because of similar circumstances but minus Rory (i.e. Le Mac kidnaps Chloe or something), then the second time in the newly created 'loop' was because Rory time travelled back and changed the details but with the same outcome, and then she makes him promise not to do anything different so then that self actualises 'fate' with the loop they created. There are some time theories that talk about 'fixed points' or events that won't change even if the details between them do
