Did you catch what Stiles was saying? Based on what he told the Alpha, Stiles essentially knew he could track Scott's phone to find Derek this ENTIRE TIME, and was just willing to let him stay missing and possibly be killed because he hates Derek for no justified reason. I love Stiles, truly! His character is hella funny, deeply loyal to, especially to Scott (though Scott doesn't really deserve it) and quite frankly much braver than Scott (there are many examples, though to this point my favorite is him leaning defensively over Lydia while facing off with Peter! But, his one (and probably only) flaw is his unjustified biased hatred of Derek.
