You almost had it right there at the end of Ep 10. Stefan has been lying and manipulating Elena since he started stalking her and forced himself into her life. Everything he has done has been a ploy to get her hooked on him during her lowest point of grief over her parents death.

I like Bonnie, but i also really dont like her most of the 1st few seasons... regardless of how they feel about Damon, the necklace is his and should be returned to him. Bonnie might have been scared, even though Damon was completely polite, and he certainly didn't threaten Bonnie like Elena (who wasn't even there) claims. Everyone always acts like they are better and more honorable than Damon, but he is always the most honest about his intentions and keeping his word while everyone lies about and to him and break their word to him! I dont care what Emily's "reason" for breaking her word, Damon kept his word for over 100 years, protecting a preser ing the Bennett bloodline! Yet Grams treats Stefan better than Damon, the reason she is alive, and Emily broke her promise. In my opinion Damon had every right to try and kill Bonnie! On to Stefan, who when is suits him acts like vampires are less than human, so why should he be upset about Lexi's death, especially when she was about to kill Caroline's mom right before Damon killed her. And he gave a sanctimonious speech about how Damon should trust him because over the years only one brother is untrustworthy, but we learn and are learning now that the untrustworthy brother is Stefan, not Damon! Lastly, Elena finds a way to make everything about her, ALL THE TIME!
