They seem to still be considered as "more human", for example she doesn't heal and she can cross mountain ash. But somehow, she was also "immune" to the bite, and to the kanima venom (which affects human + supernatural). Everything shows that Lydia and banshees in general are just mystical creatures that can defy supernatural/human rules, I guess...
