Chapter 80: Slap to Danzo's Face

At the residence in Fire Source City, Uchiha Mikoto was kneeling on the tatami mat, continuously taking out makeup products and starting to apply makeup to Shishou.

“Are you really going to meet the Third Hokage?” Mikoto asked, putting down the makeup sponge with some concern.

Being the wife of the Uchiha clan leader, Uchiha Mikoto had witnessed the strength and cunning of the Third Hokage. Even though the Third had weakened due to age over the past decade, he remained incredibly formidable.

Lying on Mikoto’s lap, Shishou closed his eyes, enjoying her lap pillow service and responded nonchalantly, “Don’t worry, with the Flying Thunder God technique, I can leave anytime. There won’t be any danger.”

Mikoto shook her head and continued, “I know your strength is incredible, but aren’t you worried your identity in Konoha might be discovered? It could cause you a lot of trouble.”

Seeing that Mikoto was concerned about his identity in Konoha, Shishou opened his eyes, pinched her cheek, and smiled, “That’s why I’m getting you to put makeup on me. And even if they find out, I’ll just become a rogue ninja. Then we can be together freely.”

“Stop it, we can’t fool around now. I have a sparring session with Yekura soon,” Mikoto said, wriggling out of Shishou’s arms and letting him rest back on her lap, continuing to apply makeup seriously.

Half an hour later, Shishou looked at himself in the mirror, his new appearance resembling Lurigan of the Land of Demons.

“You made me look so handsome. Aren’t you afraid more girls will fall for me?” he teased.

“Self-obsessed!” Mikoto rolled her eyes and left the room, heading towards the training room. She had scheduled a sparring match with Yekura and needed to be on time.

Shishou then proceeded to the Grand Betting Tower, where Mitarashi Anko and Yugao were waiting at the entrance.

“Master?” Yugao was taken aback, nearly failing to recognize Shishou and hurried to confirm, “Is that you?”

“Let’s go,” Shishou said, glancing at Anko before turning to leave.

“What happened to your appearance?” Anko asked, shocked.

Yugao was equally curious, having recognized Shishou by his unique aura. She was going to accompany Shishou to negotiate with Konoha this time.

Shishou looked at Anko, his face changing to her likeness, leaving Yugao stunned.

“You...” Anko was flabbergasted, her scalp tingling. For a moment, she thought it might be Orochimaru, as only he could alter appearances without transformation jutsu.

She quickly dismissed this thought, knowing Orochimaru would never meet the Third Hokage in person.

Satisfied with Anko’s reaction, Shishou reverted to his new guise and, without a word, sped towards Konoha.

Yugao hurriedly followed, having learned basic ninjutsu from Shishou after becoming his subordinate. Though her skills were still rudimentary, she managed to keep up.

“He definitely has a connection to Orochimaru,” Anko thought, her determination to investigate Shishou’s link to Orochimaru growing stronger as she followed them.

At the gates of Konoha, Shishou spotted the two gatekeepers, Kotetsu Hagane and Izumo Kamizuki. There were rumors in the ninja world that even Pain didn’t dare enter through the front gate because of these two...

Amused by his thoughts, Shishou followed Anko to the Hokage’s office.

Upon arriving, Shishou was warmly welcomed by the Third Hokage. Anko, having completed her task, gave Shishou a glance and left the office.

With Anko gone, only the Third Hokage, Homura Mitokado, Koharu Utatane, Danzo Shimura, and Shishou remained in the room.

“Any attempt at spying will be considered an act of aggression. Please respect yourself, sir,” Shishou said with a smile, catching Danzo’s displeased expression.

He had sensed Danzo using the Sharingan to observe him.

“Hm?” The Third Hokage’s face darkened. “Danzo, please leave.”

It wasn’t Danzo’s prying that upset the Hokage, but the fact that Shishou had caught him in the act. This indicated that Shishou’s abilities were as extraordinary as Kakashi and the others had described.

At this juncture, it was best not to offend him.

However, Shishou’s current appearance differed from the descriptions given by Kakashi and the others. He must have disguised himself meticulously, thought the Third Hokage.

“Hmph!” Danzo scowled and left the office, feeling as though he’d been slapped in the face. His usual foolproof Mangekyo Sharingan had been detected, leaving him both angry and embarrassed.

Seeing Danzo’s frustrated departure, Shishou felt a sense of satisfaction.

“These are the images of the Wood Release user and his companions,” Shishou said, tossing a few sheets to the Third Hokage as he sat down, closing his eyes to rest.

The images depicted Uchiha Obito, Black and White Zetsu, Kakuzu, and Kisame Hoshigaki. With Tsunade’s imminent return to Konoha, these secrets would soon be out, so Shishou decided to maximize the benefits before that happened.

The Third Hokage’s eyes narrowed as he examined Obito’s image. He was certain this was the person responsible for the Nine-Tails attack on Konoha.

Homura Mitokado and Koharu Utatane, the other two Konoha elders, were shocked to see the images, impressed by Shishou’s efficiency in uncovering the Mokuton user’s identity.

“Thank you very much for your assistance, Mr. Lurigan. Could you tell us more about these individuals?” the Third Hokage asked amiably.

The Third Hokage recognized Kakuzu and Kisame but wanted to hear Shishou’s account.

Kakuzu had once ambushed the First Hokage, only to be effortlessly defeated by Hashirama Senju. The Third Hokage hadn’t expected Kakuzu to survive this long.

As for Kisame Hoshigaki, as a member of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist, Konoha had his records.
