“This dusty leather bound tome was found in the ruins of a long forgotten pocket dimension, hidden away from the rest of the Mage’s Academy. Running your hands along its embossed surface fills you with a sense of mischievousness.
Will you indulge it?”
Trap & Keep - If you are holding the spellbook in your hands when targeted by a spell, you may use your Reaction to attempt to ‘catch’ the spell’s energy within the pages of your book, by making an Intelligence (Arcana) check. The DC to trap a spell is equal to 10 + the spell’s level. If the spell is not a spell on the Wizard’s spell list, the DC is increased by 5.
At any time, the wielder of the Tome may unleash this spell as an action without expending a spell slot.
This ability can be used once per day and the Tome resets at sunrise each day. If a spell is still trapped within the Tome at sunrise, it is lost.
Sharing Notes - As an action, you may expend a spell slot and tear a page from your spellbook representing one of the spells you have currently prepared. Doing so creates a special spell scroll of that spell that can be used by anyone. While this scroll exists, you lose access to the spell and cannot prepare another spell in its place.
Once cast from the scroll, the page regenerates in your spellbook, and becomes a prepared spell once again.
Advanced Studies - When copying a spell into your spellbook from a scroll, you may copy spells from any class’ spell list. Copying and learning a spell from another class takes twice the amount of times and four times the amount of GP.
