“Despite the stereotype of most artistic pursuits belonging in the halls of the Bardic colleges of the land, The School of Fine Art Wizards are just that. Wizards. These mages find solace in the rigorous study of the visual arts, and the rote memorization of skills and techniques as opposed to the flashy showmanship of the bards.
There’s a specific trait that Artists and Wizards share. Arrogance. The Arrogance to create entire worlds from nothing but a blank canvas, and these mages exemplify that trait to the highest degree.”
Eye for Detail - Starting at level 2, you gain proficiency in Calligrapher’s Supplies and Painter’s Supplies. Additionally you gain proficiency in Perception or Insight. If you already are proficient in one of these skills, you double your proficiency bonus.
Imaginary Friend - At level 2, you learn to infuse your magic into your art and gain the ability to bring life to an Original Creation. During a short or long rest, you can take the time to draw an Original Creation into the world. Your OC acts independently of you, but it always obeys your commands. In combat, it rolls its own initiative and acts on its own turn. It is clear to anyone who sees your OC that this is an unnatural creature made from paint or sketchings brought to life.
While your OC is within 100 feet of you, you can communicate with it telepathically. Additionally, as an action, you can see through your OC’s eyes and hear what it hears until the start of your next turn, gaining the benefits of any special senses it has. During this time, you are deaf and blind with regard to your own senses.
Your OC (Original Creation) is a creature that can take virtually any form your burgeoning artist’s mind can imagine, but is generally constrained to one of the following templates.
Humanoid - Your OC takes on the form of a small or medium humanoid creature. It has human-like hands capable of any normal task a human could perform. When summoned it may be drawn with a simple or martial weapon that it is capable of using to attack, a shield, and armor. It is considered proficient in whatever equipment it is drawn with.
Beast - Your OC takes on the form of a tiny, small, or medium non-humanoid creature. Its speed increases by 10, gains a Climbing or Swimming speed equal to its speed, and Darkvision out to 60ft. Additionally, the beast gains a natural weapon attack using claws, fangs, horns, etc… that does 5 (1d6+2) Bludgeoning, Piercing, or Slashing damage chosen when the OC is created.

It gains proficiency in Dexterity and Intelligence Saving Throws as well as the Acrobatics, Perception, Stealth, and Sleight of Hand skills. Once per turn, when making an attack with advantage, the OC may add 2d6 Poison damage to its attack when using a weapon with the Finesse property
Magic-User: Your OC’s Intelligence is increased to 18. It gains Proficiency in Intelligence and Wisdom Saving Throws. Additionally, the OC learns 1 Cantrip (scaled to your level), three 1st level spells, two 2nd level spells, and one 3rd level spell. It can cast each of these spells once per Long Rest, using Intelligence as its casting modifier.
Refined Beast - Choose a more complex form for your OC.
Monstrous. Your OC’s size increases to Large. Its Strength and Constitution are increased to 18 (+4), it gains Proficiency in Strength saving throws, and it gains 4 additional HP per Wizard level. Its natural weapon attack damage is increased to 11 (2d6+4) damage. Additionally, it gains the Charge ability. If your OC moves at least 20 ft before hitting with an attack, it deals an additional 7 (2d6) damage and forces the target to make a Strength saving throw against your spell save. On a failure the target is knocked prone.
Venomous. Your OC’s Dexterity is increased to 20 (+5) and its AC increases to 15. It gains proficiency in Dexterity saving throws and the Stealth skill. Additionally, it gains Blindsight out to 10ft. When your OC successfully hits a creature with an attack, the creature must make a Constitution saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failure, the creature takes 4d6 Poison damage and gains the Poisoned condition.
Aerial. Your OC gains a Flying speed of 60ft, its Dexterity and Wisdom are increased to 16 (+3), and its AC is increased to 13. It gains Proficiency in Wisdom saving throws and the Perception skill as well as Darkvision out to 120ft. It no longer provokes opportunity attacks and when it hits a creature with an attack, that creature must make a Dexterity saving throw to protect its eyes. On a failure, the creature is Blinded until the end of its next turn.
Arcane Masterpiece - At level 10 you have learned to draw your spells into existence and can use Painter’s Supplies as a spellcasting focus. When you do, you can choose to hone the finer details of a spell, allowing you to paint and unleash the most powerful version of that spell possible. As an action, you may expend the spell slot for the spell you’d like to cast and start your Masterpiece. On the following turn, you may complete your Masterpiece and unleash the spell at the highest spell level you are able to cast. Once you use this ability, you must take a Long Rest before using it again.
Advanced Artistry - At level 15, your skill has improved to the point where you can create an OC using other mediums or techniques, granting them additional bonuses.
Sculpture - You sculpt your OC from stone or metal, rather than drawing or painting it. It gains resistance to Bludgeoning, Piercing, and Slashing damage. Additionally, its attacks deal extra damage equal to your Proficiency modifier.
Photorealism - Your ability to mimic reality is uncanny, causing your OC to appear as if it is a real creature, rather than one of your creations. Your OC’s Charisma is increased to 16 (+3) and it gains proficiency in Deception, Intimidation, or Persuasion.
Impressionism - Using broad, less detailed, brush strokes you create an OC who’s form becomes more malleable. It is able to compress and change the shape of its body up to a large creature all the way down to being able to squeeze through 1 inch spaces. In addition, the OC gains advantage on Stealth checks, due to its shifting and imprecise form.
Gesture Drawings - You have mastered the art of quick sketches to denote information, and form. Using this honed skill, you can instead create 5 barely detailed models of your usual 1 OC familiar. These creations are limited in their capabilities. They have 1 HP and can only follow simple commands.
