Attacks with this weapon deal an additional 1d6 Necrotic damage.
Mournful Whale - As an action, you may summon the spirit of the blade, a Ghostly Whale. This creature uses the Ghost stat block (MM pg147), but is a Huge creature and its Possession action is replaced by the Dirge from the Depths action below.
The creature acts on your initiative and follows your commands. It cannot move more than 150 ft. from the blade and dissipates if it does. This summoned creature lasts for 1 hour or until you dismiss it (no action required). The Ghostly Whale may be summoned once per day and you regain the ability to do so at Midnight.
Dirge from the Depths (Recharge 5-6) - As an action, the Ghostly Whale can sing it’s sorrowful song, causing all hostile creatures within 30ft. of it to make a DC16 Wisdom saving throw. On a failure, the creature takes 27 (6d8) Psychic damage and is Stunned until the end of its next turn. On a success, the creature takes half as much damage and is not Stunned.
Cetacean Cremation - As an action, you can command the Ghostly Whale to soar high into the air choosing 1, 2, or 4 points within 120ft. of the Ghostly Whale where the whale will launch itself, landing and creating an explosion of hellfire and destroying itself.
Choosing multiple points decreases the damage and radius of the explosion, shown in the chart below, and the area of each point may not overlap. All creatures within these areas must make a DC16 Dexterity saving throw. On a successful saving throw, the damage dealt by the ability is halved.
