Fluttershy stuck to her guns and it proved to be what was needed! Amazing stuff regardless of how frustrating it was to see discord take advantage of it. Great contrast to how everyone was towards him and how Fluttershy genuinely wanted to be his friend. Well played. And i love that, the strongest weapon is her kindness. The stare is no longer a threat ๐ Hmm thatโs an interesting question. Considering I did not expect him to return like this, only reinforces not knowing whatโs next. I could maybe envision where a past creature or one of his friends tries to sway him back to being evil which would have him be rude to Fluttershy and everyone else. Ideally weโd want him to not be evil but you know there has to be something else for him ๐ค.

2024-05-19 09:34:45 +0000 UTCIn "Keep Calm and Flutter on" Twilight Sparkle and her friends are given the insane task by Princess Celestia to reform the most dangerous villain ever existed: Discord. His unexpected recurrence led even Twilight to question her Mentor and Fluttershy is the only one willing to give him a chance. To prevent him from going out of control again Celestia brought back the Elements of Harmony. While the others are searching other ways to force Discord to submit, Fluttershy takes another approach of kindly giving him his freedom to express himself while giving the benefit of doubt by befriending him. But Discord had other plans and wanted to trick her until he realized that he would lose his only friend if he proceed to be selfish and that it can't always go his way. It was an unexpected episode with an interesting dynamic between Fluttershy and Discord. Never could anyone have predicted, that Fluttershy would be the one to be able to reform him. It was a hilarious to see Discords shenanigans and to see the Elements of Harmony again. - Some further notes/thoughts/facts: - We see Celestia and holy moly... Discord trapped in a statue..? Appropriate reaction Twilight! ๐ How dare Celestia bringing Discord here..! Celestia sets her hope onto Fluttershy as the element of kindness and mediator between Ponies and animals. The way Celestia acts with Fluttershy is somehow heartmeltingly sweet... :D - if you take it out of context https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7z_g20jrCk XD That is quite an spectacular entrance Discord is doing with all the "magic stretching" by doing discordant stuff. "Oopsie!" Also Discord knows their gameplan, because he is able to hear and see everything while he is trapped as the statue... it must be horrifying be trapped like that for a thousand years and still be able to perceive everything around you. Poor Fluttershy... what did you get into :o "Oh, dear..!" At least she seems to have a plan, while her friends are considering a backup plan, a reformation Spell... Discords eating the Paper of the books was random at first, but funny after it being revealed as the pages of said spells ๐ It's lovely that Fluttershy gives Discord as the lord and embodiment of chaos, a way to vent his chaotic nature and be himself by making himself at home... even if it means that her home is spinning around... While the others aren't trusting Discord too much - well who can blame them, considering what he did to them. - i wouldn't either... The dinnerparty was a great and hilarious event. I love all the puns and jokes here with the tableware. Fluttershy declaring Discord as her friend was so sweet. And Fluttershy likes it being a little livelier. Its also interesting to see Fluttershy confidently confronting her friends about not even giving him the benefit of doubt, that would never have happened in earlier seasons. - She grew up so much ๐ Rainbow Dash: "You see Discord's behind all this, right?" Fluttershy: "Oh, of course I do! Do you all think I'm a silly, gullible fool?" Rarity: "Only in the sense of being silly and gullible..." Pinkie Pie: "Um, well..." Applejack: "Uh... uh, no, not exactly..." ...it says much how her friends were reacting to that ๐ "You need to fix this", Promises to never use the element against him as a sign of their friendship... ... and fixing it he did...๐ Fluttershy got guts, she stays to her promise but is truly not happy with it and finally snaps! ๐ฎ And Discord realizes how much he appreciates friendship... "Well played, Fluttershy. Well played." This change is huge..! And completely unexpected. Discord: "I like it better my way, but... I guess when you're friends, you can't always have things exactly your way all the time, eh?" Ohmagerd! He said it! ๐"Friendship is Magic!"๐ XD Fluttershy: "See? He can be a real sweetheart once you get to know him." But Celestia is still distrusting him, by letting behind the Elements of Harmony. And i still doubt that the rest of the mane six are convinced. - Are you convinced? --- I agree with you: I also liked that it was a Fluttershy centered episode which wasn't about her fear or insecurity, but showed us how far she had come instead by getting the reformation task from Celestia and pulling it off with her wits and her own abilities. She was playing an active part and taking the lead with her own agenda of being kind to Discord and be his friend, while her other friends are completely distrusting him and giving not even a shred of trust. Also Fluttershy's stare isn't her strongest weapon anymore, it's her Kindness and that was great to see. ๐คฉ What do you think Discord as an almighty but maybe reformed being will be doing in the future? A lot of conflicting feelings here with the entire Fluttershy/discord dynamic but damn it worked out so well!! Fluttershy showing the patience, acceptance, and friendship that everyone especially discord needs. Wonderful!

2024-05-17 06:42:31 +0000 UTCSuch an amazing episode, Iโm glad to see discord again, at first I was like why would celestia want to reform him but thinking about it he has a lot of power and him using it for good could help out a lot, fluttershy was amazing in this one, she knew exactly what she was doing, discord finally understood that heโd miss out on having her as a friend.
