The duos was nice and it’s something I’ve stated we need more of and we get a little touch of that here. I loved loved the journals for every pony! I thought the letters was done but now all the ponies can do it for themselves in their books which you know will be passed down from generation to generation. Gotta love it. Lol I’m not sure. I think pinkie has chaos but it just makes sense to me? 😂. A method to the madness if you will. Great episode to follow that intense part 1 and 2!

2024-06-04 09:02:09 +0000 UTCIn "Castle Mane-ia" Twilight Sparkle and Spike embark on a research mission to the old library of the "Castle of the Two Sisters", eager to uncover more about the mysterious box. Also Rainbow Dash and Applejack engage in a friendly competition to determine who is the bravest. Their rivalry leads them through the castle's darkest corridors, testing their courage. Meanwhile Fluttershy with her pet Angel helps Rarity out, who seeks to restore the castle's former grandeur, envisioning a grand restoration project. But another one, the "Pony of Shadows" seems to be messing around with the castles traps instilling fear into our beloved Ponies which results in a big fallout where everyone accidentally scares everyone the whole time. Except for Twilight who found the "journal of the two sisters" which provided insight about how this castle-traps work and how the princesses lived here. That enables her to defuse the situation between her friends and uncovers the truth behind the "Pony of Shadows" who is Pinkie Pie, just playing around with an organ which is connected to the traps. After everything settled down, Twilight is inspired by the journal to start their own journal to write down their experiences. - Some further notes/thoughts/facts: - "Castle Mane-ia" is an allusion to the Konami video game series "Castlevania" and wordplay of Mania into Mane-ia. The inspiration of the writer Josh Haber for this episode idea and story was the Scooby-Doo cartoon franchise. Also Pinkie Pie playing the organ is a reference to the "Phantom of the Opera" and the elaborate music are reminiscent to a well known musical piece - i love that. This episode is a continuation and introduction to the "castle of the two sisters", it's the castle where Twilight found the elements of harmony in the pilot-episode. It's above the cave where the "tree of harmony" resides. To see Twilight in a Library this hyped is somehow truly a bliss to watch, but Spike is not very amused about that though. What Gummi is lacking, Pinkie has way too much :D And here we are Rainbow Dash and Applejack are at it again, competition about being the bravest, after they were competing about the strongest and fastest 😌 Also watching the dynamic between Fluttershy and Rarity is also very interesting to watch. It's always interesting to see the dynamics between these or other duos. You remembered the bridge in the pilot episode - Nice! 😮 While AJ mentions a story told by granny smith, about the Pony of Shadows she made the same expression impersonating a ghost, as she did in the sleepover episode in season 1. Very good Rarity, you see the tapestry with Luna on it and yell "this is perfect!" - You are so right there 😋 Its hilarious how they are freaking themselves out without knowing it. Yeah you are right Rarity and Fluttershy got a duo-episode "Green isn't your color", but it would be interesting to see more of them... Angel does look like he didn't want to trap them, but we both know what he is really about 😏 - spoiler: she wants to sacrifice them to his satanic overlord that he belongs to 😋 The picture of the general is a recycled picture already seen in "MMMystery on the Friendship Express" - in which Rarity ran into. As for that "Zombie grandma" i have no idea what this is about... Interestingly you called Pinkie out... that was a nice intuition - i didn't at first because she said at the beginning, that she had to attend the school for bell-ringing duty. - but yes it was somewhat obvious 😅 Twilight finds the "The journal of the two sisters" a book in which Celestia and Luna had written down their daily life and about the castles peculiarities - especially the traps which are controlled by an organ. A hallway of disembodied pony legs... - not something you would expect in a kids-show... Well i thing these are just parts of pony armor 😄 10:53 Rarity is so over Fluttershy's angsty behaviour 😅 I love how they all scare each other without knowing 😋 The castle are in ruins primarily because of the battle between Nightmare Moon and Celestia in the past which was shown in the premiere. And after that battle Celestia abandoned the castle because she didn't wanted always to be reminded of this incident - i think. In the pilot episode, Twilight fought Nightmare Moon, but i don't think there was any real damage. Poor Fluttershy, she was completely conviced that Angel died here... Kinda ironic that Rainbow Dash was more frightened than Fluttershy, who was just worried about Angel most of the time. I love the buildup and how it all came together until they all accidentally scare themselves and panic breaks out just for Twilight to use a freeze spell to stop them from panicking further. Also like how calm Twilight is here. The Pony of Shadows an old Ponies'Tale? - I don't know abou that 😮 18:35 Twilight just carries them all... 😅 (🙌Alicorn-Earthpony Magic🙌) I love how the music gets more suspenseful the closer the mane 5 are to pinkie, who plays the organ itself - she was fully on aware what is going on 😏 Pinkie Pie: "Uh, the "everypony come to the scary old castle and hide from each other while I play the organ" party? Duh!" I must say that's the weirdest party idea I've ever come across. 😅 How can you say: "We understand you pinkie?" - You do? YOU... DO!? 🤯 - Tell me the secrets you have obtained to understand her!! 😲 - because everyone else doesn't 😣 - How can you understand Pinkie with statement like these: Pinkie Pie: "I always let my imagination run away from me! Then it comes back... with cake!" ??? Did your own sanity run away here? 🤣 Twilight Sparkle: "I've just thought of a great idea! Why don't we keep a journal, just like the royal pony sisters?" 👀 Something is looming around the castle aside from the mane six with glowing eyes? The real shadow pony maybe? There are still lessons, but they now have a journal which is a replacement for Celestia's letters they have written before. I think there will be enough to talk about 😀 Also there is continuity, but mostly in an indirect way. --- This concludes this episode with great pacing, a well made and funny buildup of different stories which all came together and introduced us to the journal they're using now to write down their experiences. We also got 2 lessons here about how a friend can help you rein your imagination in and how knowing something about the past can make it easier to deal with problems in the present. 2024-05-28 07:27:45 +0000 UTCI enjoy this episode, it’s very spooky would definitely work on Halloween, pinkie pie is so good on that organ lol who knew she could play so well but then again she can play lots of instruments at once, I loved how we got a setup for a friendship journal, and seeing the castle of the two sisters is awesome not sure if it counts as world building but I loved it, we get AJ and RD being competitive which is always funny, great episode overall!
