yeah... but i can see why it is difficult to side with someone who can't express her opinion enough and bring her point/solution across - especially if a situation arises which could endanger yours and others existence.

2024-06-07 10:29:11 +0000 UTCAn all around great episode! Darker tones, conflict that I am starting to get tired of as the ponies don’t ever side with Fluttershy. That’s apart of the lesson but they are quick to dismiss and do something temporary. Flutterbat can even be seen as someone who has had it from mistreatment, a sort of darker result vs the assertive episode. And yes those two big themes were beautiful and important! Loved loved it. S4 has been so impressive and isn’t afraid to get a little out the box. You love to see it!

2024-06-07 07:56:16 +0000 UTCIn "Bats!" Applejack is excitedly preparing for the next Applebuck Season, but the orchard has been invaded by vampire fruit bats. Despite Fluttershy's alternative suggestion of a sanctuary and objection Twilight wants to use a spell to quench the bats desire to suck the juice from the apples. but this spell backfires on to Fluttershy and transforms her into Flutterbat! In an effort to turn her back the rest of the mane 6 capture her and reverse the spell. At last they do what Fluttershy suggested before and create a sanctuary for the vampire fruit bats. This episode combines an exciting plot, important character development and horror elements with the usual charm of "My Little Pony" and makes it a standout in the series. - Some further notes/thoughts/facts: - On April 1, 2013, Meghan McCarthy wrote as part of an April Fools Day joke that the eleventh episode of the fourth season would be titled "Bats" and that "It's just like the musical 'Cats', but with, you know, bats. And ponies. But mostly bats." 🤣 As you see the title is a reference to the 1981 musical Cats. "Its official Apple-Bucking day", yes, the last time this was brought up was in season 1 episode 4, which was one year ago (short time after the Summer Sun Celebration in the pilot, which was in this season premiere also one year after) 😏 Thats one hell of an apple! I wonder if that is possible in the real world... I agree with you - i also like the darker tone, different instrumental and depictions of the Vampire Fruit Bats for each side... Flutters are so cute while on AJ's these are really hideous and monsterlike. That is barely strange, because this song "Bats" and the imagery bear a strong resemblance to "This Is Halloween" from The Nightmare Before Christmas. - Well except for Pinkie, she is always the odd one out... she was the only pastel-colored pony in that song... (6:03) 😅 I know it was somewhat for the sake of that song to turn all five against Fluttershy in this way... but it got really dark for a moment there 😥 - It wasn't very well taken by the fandom that it happened in this manner. 😒 Pinkie Pie: "Fruit bat round-up, fruit bat round-up!" - Oh Pinky... what would we do without your uplifting and funny moments, i bet it was left in here to disperse that depressing mood against Fluttershy. It's also a pity, that Fluttershy's idea of a sanctuary was just shot down by Applejack... just to do it anyway in the end... because it was the better and more forethought solution - Why does that reminds me of our daily antics in politics? 🤔😅 It was obvious that Rainbow had to take AJ's side after the mentioning of cider outage... ...i think she is a cider addict 🤣 Now... how could Twilight forget the devastating result of the last time she used a spell to prevent a creature from eating food? ("Swarm of the Century" with the Parasprites S1x10) - It was bound to fail in one way or another... Rainbow Dash: "Won't somepony please think of the cider!" Yep, it is confirmed... Rainbow Dash is definitely a cider-addict..! 😋 It's btw. a parody of the common phrase, "Won't somebody please think of the children!". Now that i think about it... if the spell stops them from eating the fruits... do they have to starve to death now? 🤔 Nice intuition there... you knew right away what problem could arise here. A stake-out in the witching hour by full moon... that screams for a halloween episode! "Alright, now everypony split up." AJ... what did we learn from horror movies..? Never split up like that - horror-villains love this trick! 😂 Fluttershy: "I have a bad feeling about this. A really bad feeling about this", yeah we all do! Flutterbat! is an adorable and awesome design! But it's not the first time we saw something like a bat-pony - if you remember back at the 4th episode of season 2 ("Luna Eclipsed") there were bat-ponies pulling Princess Luna's chariot on Nightmare Night: https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/falloutequestria/images/5/5e/Batpony_guards.png/revision/latest?cb=20141208071012 - They are regarded as Luna's Royal Guard ponies Pinkies fear is real... i wouldn't bet against the possibility, that there is a chance that she wouldn't suck a pony dry or eat them... Pinkie's drilling through the ground is only possible because she worked on a rock-farm before - thats my take here. 😅 Twilight's diagram grid is done in the style of Tron and its sequel, Tron: Legacy. - That seems oddly out of place, but was still a nice reference. And Fluttershy got turned back and AJ had to sacrifice her grand apple... that could have been prevented... 🙄 A nice little gag indeed at the end... or is it though? --- I absolutely agree with you: The creativity in this show is great and that is just because of the possibilities such a world like Equestria has to offer, especially with its own world-building and the addition of the foreign elements like magic, which can be used in any way possible. - That's what i love in this show! And Season 4 was a fresh take-on of everything, because the creators had more possibilities and a higher budget than before. This concludes this episode with two great lessons to be learned: - short-term solutions are often short-sighted, a compromise is often the better solution. - you shouldn't let anyone pressure you into doing something that you don't think is right, Sometimes you have to tell even your closest friends 'no'. Flutterbat is something that I never thought I’d see in Mlp but I wasn’t disappointed she’s awesome, there’s lots of cosplays of her, and plushies made of her, lots of art too, she’s very popular in the fandom which is so cool, the message of this episode is very strong something that needed to be said it is really sad how they all shut down fluttershys ideas and opinions before giving them a chance, this episode works well as a Halloween episode because it’s so spooky.
