Reminds me of like a fashionable Fluttershy Love the idea for song tier lists! Need to get a bit more acquainted and might be for the end of the series or something (if we get that far) Lmfao love that RD and AJ interaction Rarity is almost TOO generous with the jewels I love coco!!! Did not deserve any of that and sheโs the actually talented one. RD has scootaloo and now rarity taking someone under her wing??? Love it! We get the best and worst of rarity which is why I think this episode is amazing and honest. And that ending message is beautiful. Very well said about this episode. It had everything you could ask for. Iโm morphing into a Brony ๐. But i genuinely get excited to watch this and get upset when im unable to or need to take a break. Think thatโs why I might watch more to feed that itch ๐. Iโm glad I can provide that for you! I know there are probably much more entertaining and popular MLP reactors and people in general but iโd like to think my more honest, cozy, and unapologetic self is appreciated. I would understand if you stopped commenting on all the episodes. No worries if you do! Itโs a lot of time and effort to share your vast knowledge and feelings on an episodes. Sheโs thrilled about the opportunity and eagerly brings her friends along for support. As Rarity presents her dazzling line of designs, inspired by the magic and energy of the city. She meets Suri Polomare, an old acquaintance who initially seems friendly but quickly reveals her true colors by stealing Rarityโs fabric and passing it off as her own. Rarity is devastated, thinking her dreams are shattered. Rarity's friends rally around her, determined to help her recover from the setback. They create a new line of designs from scratch, but despite their tireless efforts, Rarity, in her stress, briefly loses sight of her generous nature and snaps at her friends. However, the night brings a moment of self-reflection. Realizing her mistake, Rarity is overcome with guilt and rushes to make amends. This episode concludes with a heartfelt reaffirmation of the bonds between the ponies and a reminder of what truly matters: being true to oneself and cherishing friends. "Rarity Takes Manehattan" is generally well-received by fans for its engaging storyline, character development, and the introduction of memorable new characters like Coco Pommel. This episode is a great example of the series' ability to blend entertaining stories with meaningful lessons, making it a favorite among many viewers. - Some notes/thoughts/facts: - Rarity got tickets to the "Bridleway" which is a wordplay on Broadway. We have been one time in Manehattan: In S1E23 "The Cutie Mark Chronicles" when AJ was considering to life there with aunt and uncle orange. Spike loves to suffer, if it's for Rarity ๐ While Rarity shows them around we at first get to the Manehattan equivalent of Times Square, there is a billboard with two pony eyes with pony silhouettes in them, like the logo for the Broadway musical Cats. Also there is an apple juice box above it that is a take on the Coca-Cola logo. - interestingly it's an apple-juice drink... and who is the biggest supplier? Maybe it's AJ and the Apple-Family? Hm... who knows. ๐ค A best song tierlist! I would love that! Now there, RD got way to meta here: ๐ Rainbow Dash: "Ponies just bursting into song in random places at the drop of a hat? Who does that?" - Rarity starts to sing the Song "Generosity" ๐คฃ Most ironic and epic quote of Equestria's lifetime if you ask me. That song "Generosity" is fire, Rarity is so good in this and its so uplifting i like it. Kazumi Evans is truly doing a great job here, she is btw. also the singing voice of Princess Luna! Which is interesting because Rarity's VA (Tabitha St. Germain) is also voicing Princess Luna! Can we talk about the fact that Rarity is casually giving away gems, that are worth a lot? The pony (called "Wisp") to whom Rarity gives her scarf away during the song is voiced by the songwriter Daniel Ingram himself! Also the one pony Rarity is giving a flower to has a cutie mark of "Grumpy Cat" - a famous internet-meme in 2012. That pony even does her famous frown. Rarity swings on a lamppost is another reference to "Singin in the Rain". Btw. that registration Pony (her name is Janine Manewitz) which Rarity is talking to when she was late, is based on the character of Grace from the 1986 film Ferris Buellers Day Off. Her Voice is also Tabitha St. Germain and she does an impression of Annie Potts from the 1984 film Ghostbusters here. And here we have "Suri Polomare" who the opposite of generous, who exploits Rarity's generosity to steal Rarity's designs and sell it as hers... Thats quite the city-mentality for you ๐ But we also get introduced to "Coco Pommel" who seems to be extorted by Suri... ๐ฎ - Coco Pommel's character name btw. is a play on fashion and makeup icon Coco Chanel. Which Pony-look did you like at 17:09? Made clothes based on Hotel-interior ๐ - See no differences here to some Real-Life Designs ๐คฃ - It's still well made and looks decent. At least Rarity had an epiphany about what she did and knew exactly that she was horrible to her friends. In that reprise song i totally love Rarity's wet Mane-Style here. Applejack: "Yeah, you were pretty rotten." Rainbow Dash: "Wow, Applejack. I know your thing is honesty, but come on!" ๐คฃ Now as much as i dislike Rarity here for being so "rotten" to her friends, i can also understand why she was reacting this way... and her friends know Rarity well enough that they didn't take it too much to heart which shows how strong their friendship is. - This whole reconciliation scene was very sweet. I also love whenever RD is so excited! - And love when she is getting into situations which are very untypical for her tomboyish behavior. I have to admit that "Coco Pommel" is one of the cutest side-ponies in this show (it comes close to my affection for Fluttershy), sadly she was extorted by Suri to do everything she wanted... - Luckily she got out of this toxic work-relationship and was able to work for Rarity. I can totally see why you wanted that ๐ Rarity even inspired Coco to be more generous from now on and as thanks she gave Rarity a present: a rainbow thread. ๐ Rarity: "Manehattan was simply grand. It was in this magnificent metropolis that I learned that, while there are ponies who will take advantage of your generosity, you should never, ever let that cause you to abandon your generous spirit. Nothing feels worse than taking advantage of the giving nature of your friends." - Well said Rarity, well said. --- This episode was incredible and grand as well as Manehattan was itself. It had much to like: a great emotional story and pacing, a great song by Rarity (incl. reprise), further worldbuilding, a great character development and a nice message in the end. She has her standards and quirks which doesn't always resonate well with anyone and are irritating to most - especially in episodes where she is mainly just there as the "fancy-relief" figure (i hope you know what i mean by that, i am not sure, what the correct terms are here). But if it is about her and she is somewhat the focus of an episode, these episodes are great to watch. Great reaction! - I truly liked how you reacted here to this episode. It deserves a 10/10 rating! ๐ - On a personal note: - It's great that you begin to really like MLP - Thats great to hear! I love this overall positive vibe of this show - i often watch reactions to these episodes to get away from all this negativity that is currently happening all around the world... - Kinda like a safe-haven for me. ๐ As for you question about multiple Episodes each day, i already told you my take on it and i am afraid to miss the chance to give you the right pointers at the right time if you do that ๐ And as you know i really love to give you pointers, heads-up and infos on things and episodes, but it's already difficult to keep this up with your current schedule because i always need some time to write this stuff and am not always able to do this. ๐ - I overestimated myself here and that's why i am currently considering to cut me some slack and wont continue to do that on all episodes - I hope you dont mind. ๐

Loved her and was so happy sheโs with rarity. Iโll have to start replaying the songs to get more familiar. Will play them while editing ๐๐

2024-06-07 08:56:09 +0000 UTCAmazing episode, this is way season 4 is so good with episodes like this I did get very emotional during this episode, also I love coco pommel sheโs so nice and it was wrong of that one pony to take advantage of her and rarity, rarityโs generosity was tested in this episode, also had one of my favorite songs in the show.
