About the guards and why these exist, there is a popular theory that they're just mostly send on patrols outside the castle, to protect the citizens from being attacked or taken as hostages. - Because threats that are stronger than them have to be handled by the princesses, who have much more power or certain other individuals that may be strong enough...

Idk they have to be guards and stuff for a reason 😂😂 Yeah discord was very bad this episode but I would argue the other ponies (besides Fluttershy) have been just as bad and does bring up questions of how they view friendship. Discord really pushes the line and tests them.

Intro i would like that 🤩 Twilight Sparkle: "Cadance and I haven't really had a chance to just enjoy being friends again. Which is why it is so important that this visit be about the two of us having some real quality time together." 👀 That is some loud crystal train brakes... and yes that is Flash in the Pony-universe. Welp again no Sunshine 😣 - But some speculate they're doing this offscreen to save Air-time of these episodes. Rarity: "Whatever it is...DUUUUUCK!!!" Pinkie Pie: "Rarity, that doesn't look anything like a duck!" Oh Pinkie... 🤣 Discord: "Well, of course I'm sick. The blue skin? These sneezes? Could somebody find me a fainting couch?" - Everyone looks at Rarity... Rarity: "What?" ...because she did that all the time when drama ensued... 🤣 AJ's eyebrow raise is hilarious! I love how mellow Cadence is about this whole thing, she herself has 2 kids at home and knows exactly how to handle this (because Discord is often behaving like one) 😅 It's the first time we hear Discord truly sing... Now the "Glass of Water" song isn't good as other songs, because it was less musical and more lyrical, but the visual references here are just too wild (I just copied these from the wiki-page): - Discord, Twilight and Cadance are standing before a castle dressed in black robes and ties and Twilight's wearing glasses, a reference to the Harry Potter series. - When Discord asks for lozenges, he is standing in front of a hilly background while a pony in lederhosen plays the sousaphone, a parody of the Ricola ads. - The shot of Discord looking out a window wishing on a wishing star is a parody of a scene in Disney's version of Pinocchio. - The shot of Discord holding a magic lamp is a reference to the 1992 Disney film Aladdin. - The line he sings during both of these aforementioned scenes, "I wish I may, I wish I might", is a reference to the nursery rhyme Star Light, Star Bright. - Discord holds up a glass of water victoriously against a black background like Luke Skywalker holding up his lightsaber in the theatrical poster for the 1977 film, Star Wars: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/8/87/StarWarsMoviePoster1977.jpg - The shot of Discord pouring water on himself is a parody of the scene in Flashdance. "They are princesses... you cant do this." - Welp... i as a high ranking official would also do that, because he is the Lord of Chaos! I wouldn't argue with him about this point. That flower is much bigger than expected... - That worm is called a Tatzlwurm btw. Are you seriously asking where the princesses security is? Why should the knights protect someone who is much stronger than themselves? - They wouldn't even stand a chance against this thing here :D Cadence in this episode is just too sweet the whole time... it showed such an interesting and wholesome character here. There are additional allusions in this Episode (I also just copied them from the wiki-page): - The Star Swirl costume that Twilight wore in Luna Eclipsed is reused for the Star Swirl the Bearded traveling museum. - When Discord is giving directions, he dresses like "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" author Hunter S. Thompson and his fictional counterpart Raoul Duke. - Discord's chariot resembles Xerxes's throne from the movie 300. - Discord slides offscreen and reappears in sunglasses, a button down shirt, underpants and white socks like Tom Cruise does in Risky Business. - The Tatzlwurm bears a striking resemblance to the graboids from the Tremors series. --- This concludes this episode - most didn't like Discord here for faking his "illness" to test their friendship which wasn't an appropriate lesson for children... it could send a wrong signal. And yeah Discord was pretty much manipulating and guild tripping them, but if you think about it... what did the mane 6 do until now? Fluttershy was the only one considering Discord as a friend while all the others were just ignoring him, thats why i can understand how he came to this conclusion to see whether Twilight is really his friend, and concocted a test to see if she would act like a friend to him. Sure, he picked a bad time and went a little overboard on the requests (because he still IS the embodiment of Chaos), but there's nothing wrong with testing somepony to see if they are your friend in my opinion. Just the way how he did that was quite questionable 😅 Anyway it was quite the chaotic episode with LOTS of references and the typical shenanigans that Discord was pulling off here, which elevated this episode to a decent one in my account. Also the message that even the most chaotic day can end up being a great experience if you are experiencing it with your friend, was a good one. And as always your conclusions are mostly on point - thank you for your reaction 💙
