Very well said! Have to agree on the cinematography this episode and the style of noir as taking us in and out the monologues was amazing and fun! Rarity’s growth and traits were highlighted here and it was so amazing to see how far she’s come. This is her season! And you’re right about the the underrated RD step closer. It was halted because of wind rider. He’s definitely up there for worst characters. Amazing episode!!

- Some notes/thoughts/facts: - "Adventures of Shadow Spade" sounds interesting and the new gowns are looking really good. This is an M.A. Larson episode, which you saw right away :D - and this kinda shows. Its not the first time Rarity used her charme to get something she wants... but this time its very thorough and very bold... 😅 - Especially while interrogating the guards 😏 Wind Rider has an interesting stylish design for his age, he does look good. You are right, Rarity was very prickly about getting dirty before, but its not as bad as then. I love all of Rarity's Dresses that she wore here, suiting for each occasion. Its interesting that you thought about "Lightning Dust" as the culprit, this also was one of my thoughts at first and as much asi would have appreciated it, this outcome was fine too. Rarity's eye for small details comes in handy here, she was able to pick up things that others wouldn't. At the "Cinnamon Chai's Tea and Cake Shop" you can see 2 ponies which resemble Sherlock Holmes and John Watson portrayed by Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman in the background: https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/3/3c/Cinnamon_Chai_levitates_her_cup_S5E15.png even later there is a short chase scene of these both hunting James Moriarty. https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/6/6b/Pony_preventing_cake_from_being_hit_by_another_pony_S5E15.png https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/8/80/Two_ponies_running_S5E15.png Its funny how Rainbow doubts Rarity's methods and falls into selfdoubt... Do YOU know what you do while you sleep? 👀😅 The whole noir aesthetic was great! I loved how Rarity was able to unravel everything and revealed the culprit which was Wind Rider Rarity: "No. It was because he was afraid that you would break his long-distance Wonderbolt record! I heard him when Spitfire said you were close to breaking his record. He said, and I quote, 'Heh-heh'. That's the polite but disingenuous laugh you make when you want to seem happy but really you're not." - Rarity knows because she is well versed in the high society... and yes patience in investigations mostly pays out. --- This conlcudes "Rarity Investigates!" which brings this episode to a satisfying close. This episode serves as a surprising follow-up to the previous one, which was unexpected but welcome. We are treated to another dynamic pairing with Rarity and Rainbow Dash, a combination that has never been explored before and brings a fresh dynamic with it. Rainbow Dash's progression to becoming a reserve Wonderbolt, called in as a backup flyer, marks another significant step forward for her character adding to the emotional rollercoaster of the episode as she experiences the highs of being called to fly with the Wonderbolts and the lows of being framed as the culprit, instigated by Wind Rider. Rarity's detective persona shines brilliantly, showcasing her versatility and growth as a character. Her role in solving the mystery emphasizes her keen eye for detail and her patience, traits that i increasingly appreciate as her character evolves from being perceived just as snobby and picky before to multifaceted, artistic, creative and caring. Wind Rider's deceitful actions to protect his record by framing Rainbow Dash, highlights an even darker element as he didn't just went against Rainbow Dash - no he also went against the Wonderbolts by setting Spitfire up to believe its an even worse illness, why she had to go further strides to get an ailment... This reveals his truly awful nature and in my personal opinion the punishment was way too mild. The episode's homage to film noir were fantastic, with the style change, narrative techniques, including black-and-white scenes, noir fashion details and distinctive music all contributing to a rich atmosphere. The femme fatale touch with Rarity, were executed beautifully and even appeals to adult viewers. This stylistic choice demonstrates My Little Pony's ability to engage a broad audience by blending adult themes with child-friendly content in a great manner - i loved that! Overall, this episode is a testament to My Little Pony's ability to evolve and engage a broad spectrum of viewers through creative storytelling and character development. Rarity's attention to detail, patience, and charm are highlighted, making her transformation from a snobby and picky character to a multifaceted, artistic, and caring individual even more impressive. This episode was experimental and packed with elements that made it stand out, from the noir genre influences to the well-crafted background music and narration parts. Another great reaction! - Thank you very much 💙
