These type of episodes are incredible and will always have me excited and engaged. Ooooo. Of course the “is this real Steven” theories. Fun stuff! Yes this would make things insane so I’m glad they kept it as a potential one time thing and a way to showcase Steven’s personality from the outside. Good stuff!

2024-07-15 15:06:48 +0000 UTCMan I love this episode so much. Steven getting to see himself from an outside perspective, the band jokes, the music. It’s just a really solid episode all around! This episode birthed a popular fan-theory that the Steven we had been following the whole series thus far is the “handsome” Steven that died, meaning we’re following a completely alternate-timeline Steven. Though, I’ve heard through the grapevine the crew possibly denied this theory (more likely the Steven we followed this episode was actually the alternate-timeline Steven all along…. If that makes sense). Anyways, I still think it’s an interesting way to develop his character. It also brought back the time travel hourglass that was used in the show’s original not-for-broadcast pilot episode that I’m sure the crew didn’t want to waste. Though I will say, if the reality of being able to time travel was addressed in the show, the events would have went Very differently.. Anyways, this episode is one of my favorites to re-watch :) “I learned to stay true to myself by watching myself die~~”
