Dang dev, super early this time! No i did not forget as I actually did watch it before EQG but I just didn’t record it. It’ll be the one thing that’s not on footage since I didn’t think it was that necessary 😂😅. But I loved the song there! Shorts were a good way to get back into it and establish the entire games aspect. And the inclusions of the other side characters was a nice touch. Sci twi. Got it. That’ll make it easier. Yes I the Crystal Prep(Empire) reference was great! I think I got a certain rumor in my head about the VA so I just assumed she wasn’t going to speak much in EQG but I’m glad I was wrong 😂. That’s why I like to be spoiler free. Cinch just gave me a vibe but I just thought it would translate to a pony we have met. But she was vile and gave a horrible ultimatum for twilight which sparked this entire debacle in the first place. Sunset writing to twilight and not getting an answer was sad 😔 That device is CRAZY. Cinch is a fool not letting her in. That’s one of the most impressive devices in the entire show. Dimension ripples 👀 Yes that sci twi and AJ connection was so wholesome and also is the best example of everyone finding out their personality and abilities. Amazing way to show that throughout the film. Element of empathy. I love that. I start to understand that in the next film but knowing this makes me love her even more. Yes very much foreshadowing something 🤔 I love that mention as well. Love how the entire time she was busy and not writing back was the entire starlight developments. Pinkie, the ultimate meta and show breaking character and it’s amazing. Another great and quality EQG movie! Sunset continues to develop and learn beautifully as she’s put through parallels and sees herself from the outside even as the other ponies find out their true traits. It’s amazing stuff!! And yes you’re right that they probably learned a lot from the equestria games and were able to build a much more cohesive and grander story so something this series can play around with and refine.

And just for future reference: The fandom called the original Twilight of the human world "Sci-Twi" to prevent any confusion with the equestrian pony Twilight - so we will do that from here on 😅 = EQG: Friendship Games animated shorts = - The Science of Magic - Sunset is easily able to go back, she just has to got through the portal, which is now open all the time. - Makes me wonder if anyone could stumble into it? 😅 - But maybe Twilight shuts it down in between, but Sunset is still able to write her... Its nice to see sunset trying to get behind the magic of her friends even though she failed, maybe Twilight would have more luck? Anyway, this short had some nice music in it. - Pinkie Spy - Pinkie is just too damn hilarious here 🤣 ... Yeah Pinkie Tree! - All's Fair in Love & Friendship Games - A short about Lyra and Bon Bon that was unexpected - again hilarious and disturbing at the same time. 😅 The green-haired girl you mentioned is called "Sweet Leaf": https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/equestriagirls/images/6/68/Sweet_Leaves_ID_EG.png and no i dont think she is friends with Fluttershy. - Photo Finished - "Photo Finish" is intruding in everyones private affair, but her photos speaks for herself... 😅 Still a nogo for me 😓 - A Banner Day - I like this short for its comical outcome evwn though it was kinda obvious... Just because Flash is disliked by some you can still like him. And i don't hate him either, i dislike him just a bit. - Also, he was mostly hated for being a love interest for Twilight and being plain. - but with Sci-Twi he has no luck ------------------------ = EQG: Friendship Games = - Some notes/thoughts/facts: - RD sure loves to show off her pony-up form... but it also tells us that Sunset doesn't know how magic works... thats still a thing that they are trying to find out, because it just behaves unlike it does in Equestria and seems to continually evolve. Sci-Twi lives in the City and goes to the "Crystal Prep"-school, a reference to the Crystal Empire. - Also, Pinkie pointed that out before in the first EQG: Movie! The "Friendship Games" Intro is an absolute banger, i loved the visual application and transition from acapella to electronic rock. Sunset Shimmer: "I just don't understand why there's this big rivalry. Aren't the "Friendship Games" supposed to be about our two schools getting along?" Applejack: "Well, it's kinda hard to get along with someone who beats you at everything." - yeah... that truly does suck a little... And here comes one of the best performances by Rainbow Dash: the "CHS Rally Song" this is such a stupendous good song - i absolutely love it. It had Rainbow Dash's awesomeness written all over it and hyped everyone up which was great. There is also an interesting alternative to this - which had a different key: Magic Of Friendship (Friendship Games Mix) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBw8yEqcL4o Ed, how did you come to the conclusion that the voice actor of Twilight wouldn't have much of a role? - Sci-Twi is there to fill said spot. 😅 - but you quickly rescinded it after recognizing it yourself 🤣 The first time Sci-Twi entered her room was the same way Twilight did in the Season 1 premiere where she hit Spike with the door. Cadence design at least looks good enough and she seems to care about Sci-Twi, even affirming with her if said "Everton Independent Study Program" is even the right choice for her. And yes as you said this is season 1 Twilight without friends... The next song "What More Is Out There?" is also such a good song, but there is even an even better alternative version, because it was originally planned as an Duet with Sunset - this is the animatic of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=myAZmJJWm0w (The difference starts at 0:55) I like this version much more... Suffering from success 🤣 Principal Abacus Cinch is an original human world character and has not pony-version. She is villainous as in being an inhuman blackmailing bastard... - trying to gain advantage of everyone and everything she can to ruin others reputations and strengthen her own (Crystal Prep). Its interesting that she reminds you of Diamond Tiaras Mom, because i didnt thought so, at first glance, maybe, but she didnt strike me as snob-like as DT's mom is... - but that is just my impression. The friendship games aren't only about physical competition, its every curriculum thats competed in. - btw. the participants are the Mane 6 (Wondercolts) vs. the Shadow 6 (Shadowbolts): https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/equestriagirls/images/5/58/Starring_credit_EG3.png from left to right: Sour Sweet, Lemon Zest, Sunny Flare, Sugarcoat, Indigo Zap, Sci-Twi The Shadowbolts is a referenze to the first premiere when Rainbow was questioned for her loyalty towards her friends wiht Nightmare Moon's Shadowbolts illusion. So magic in the human world now kinda reacts to their respective values of the Equestrian Ponies... Pinkie Pie: "She doesn't! That Twilight is obviously the Twilight from this world since it couldn't possibly be the Twilight from the pony world since the Twilight from the pony world doesn't go to Crystal Prep or wear glasses." - Deus ex machina Pinkie Pie again! 🤣 Sunset is absolutely stressed out that she is unable to come to a conclusion about how magic works... and is unable to ask Twilight for advice. Sci-Twi is able to suck magic with her device... even the portal magic is sucked into this thing, what the hell is that device? The new party-outfits are indeed cool. The "ACADECA" Song is such an underated piece of music, it very well highlights the whole competition - and Pinkie Pie is much too goated...with her Mona Lisa Pie 🤣 Also i have never seen a math curriculum test being this exciting as in this Song... 😅 Surprisingly, Angel is nice here. The collected Magic creates Dimensional ripples, which leads Spike to finally be able to talk. Motorcross at school? why didnt i have this? 😅 Twilight fumbles with the archery and noone is helping her until she begins to cry - except for Applejack, Sci-Twi is even completely grateful for it and hugs her... it was truly heartbreaking and hearthwarming altogether And suddenly this device topples down and is going haywire and said device has all the powers of the Mane 6 here... Abacus Cinch had seen and heard of everything. And again persuades Sci-Twi to release the magic, just for the sake of reputation... Sci-Twi is still being blackmailed The next song by Cinch and her students "Unleash the Magic" does indeed sound like a Disney song... the moment she unleashes the magic and gets consumed by it is very disturbing. Her fear is written all over her face. Sunset steps in to stop her, she knows what she has to do, because she is now the Element of Empathy. - She is reaching out to Sci-Twi as Twilight did with her. At least Cinch gets what she deserves, even by her own students and Sci-Twi transfers to CHS 😁 Sunset Shimmer: "Not yet. But I think I may have figured out how magic works in this world. We pony up when we're showing the truest part of ourselves. I was so busy waiting for someone else to give me the answers that I gave up looking for them myself. I'm sure there will be more magical problems that pop up in this world, but like Applejack said, Princess Twilight has her own problems to worry about in Equestria. We can't expect her to always be around to help us." - foreshadowing much? 👀 I loved the moment when Twilight mentioned the Time-Loop of the finale at the and and that she meets Sci-Twi. The End-credit Song "Right There in Front of Me" is also a banger, i dunno why people always skip the end-credit music. - Even in theaters i always try to listen to these. - Bloopers - Yes the bloopers are funny, especially Fluttershy's animal... how many do fit in there!? And we finally know the reason how Pinkie knew about all this the whole time... she always switched with her own self in Equestria... that wink was saying everything we needed. --- In conclusion, "EQG: Friendship Games" stands out as an exemplary installment in the Equestria Girls series. The writing was superb, weaving a compelling narrative that centered on uncovering the mysteries of magic while introducing us to human Twilight, affectionately known as Sci-Twi in the fandom. Her journey to Canterlot High School and the friendships she formed there were beautifully executed. Sunset Shimmer truly shone in this movie. Her remarkable character development since the first film is commendable, the storyline was cleverly a reversal of Sunset and Twilight in the first EQG-Movie which was an interesting twist. While i like your idea that Sci-Twi's presence wouldn't have been as impactful without Twilights initial involvement, it's crucial to recognize that Sunsets actions with the stolen Element of Harmony were the real catalyst for these events. Her manipulations set the stage long before the Twilight and the human counterparts of the Mane 6 even crossed paths. I do have to admit, that the music didn't initially resonate with me. However, after watching the movie multiple times, it grew on me. Also While "Friendship Games" surpassed "Equestria Games" in many ways, it's important to note that the former had the advantage of more screen time to develop its plot. Despite this, there were still opportunities for better execution. Overall, "EQG: Friendship Games" was a thoroughly enjoyable movie, cementing its place as another highlight in the series. - But the inclusion of Sci-Twi indicated a clear intention for EQG to evolve into its own franchise - the upcoming last movie will also delve deeper into this direction and i am intrigued about how you will face this challenge 😁 Anyway, another great reaction! - Thank you for watching this 💙

So when ponyville twilight arrived, she actually messed up the twilight from that universe’s role. So that’s why I said this world’s twilight was never suppose to be at canterlot high to begin with. It was a fun and creative way to establish that. And yeah you’re right that in the first movie they actually didn’t really know her so she actually was never apart of the friend group we have come to know.

That wasn't the same Twilight in the first two movies, that was our Princess Twilight from the pony world. Human Twilight has been at Crystal Prep the whole time. Most of them didn't know either Twilight before the first movie, though Pinkie at least recognized her slightly, indicating she had seen the human Twilight before.

Yes her mom is the Instant vibe I got. Great coming together from everyone! Rainbow rocks is too incredible but that’s not slight at this film

2024-07-29 00:56:50 +0000 UTCYess, this movie was amazing I love the friendship games, it did so much better than the equestria games, it made up for it even though it’s sorta two different shows, the music was great, the story was great, I loved that twilight also turned dark like sunset did in the first movie the parallels are amazing! that last scene is phenomenal, also loved sunset’s transformation it was awesome, some of the crystal prep girls reminded me of diamond Tiara and the principal did remind me of her mom, I liked how the crystal prep girls helped the mane 7 up at the end such a great ending this movie may not be as good as rainbow rocks but it’s still amazing and so fun to watch.
