2024-08-21 17:12:36 +0000 UTCMan, maud is becoming one of my favorite characters in the series. The creators making a character like her so lovable is amazing. Loooooved rarity this episode. She was perfect and that pairing went by so smoothly! Also loved her faces and expressions. Ahh yes I had a brain fart and didn’t recognize the cannon as one of her most prized possessions. But at the end of the day, this episode took a materialistic and sentimental approach with how to value or see gifts. As pinkie overrates the best present ever, it’s just because she’s so damn grateful and loving. But seeing her beat up about it was super sad. And I think sewing would have taken up time since rarity was also looking for spots. Plus, it was the PERFECT bag so can’t do anything about that.

That's even longer than for-ever." - its way to true and sugar-sweet... 🥰 And Rarity finally got her new spot for her boutique "Rarity for you". Rarity: "Oh! Ohhh! Why, that's the sweetest... Oh, no. Oh, no-no-no-no-no-no. I know how good you two are at giving gifts! I'm going to have to get you both something amazing, and I only have a year to do it!" Pinkie Pie: "Oh, Rarity! It doesn't matter what you get us! As long as you give your gift with love, it'll be perfect!" - But we are still talking about Rarity here 😅 Pinkie Pie: "Buuuut now that you mention it... I could use more confetti for my party cannon. You wouldn't believe how much of that stuff I go through in a day!" - I absolutely was wondering about that... 👀 --- This episode was a delightful return to Manehattan, a city that never fails to captivate me with its vibrant energy and bustling background which is full of life. The city was depicted with so many background ponies, adding to the vibrant atmosphere that makes Manehattan so special. Also watching Rarity and Pinkie Pie navigate their unique quests - Rarity's search for a new boutique location and Pinkie's mission to find the perfect gift for Maud, while Maud was having some quality time with Pinkie - was both entertaining and heartwarming. The dynamic between Pinkie and Rarity was a pleasant surprise, with their chemistry shining through in every scene. Rarity was unusually hyper and silly, which contrasted with her usual sophisticated demeanor. While this was a bit out of character, it was refreshing to see her evolving into a more relatable and joyful pony, especially when revisiting a place she loves like Manehattan. Her enthusiasm for finding the perfect boutique spot while showing Pinkie and Maud around Manehattan added an extra layer of excitement to her character. The sisterly love between Pinkie and Maud was another strong point. Their contrasting personalities create an intriguing and heartwarming dynamic and gives off an interesting vibe. It was heartbreaking to see Pinkie so devastated over losing her beloved party cannon and it was even more emotional because Pinkie is the most joyful character in the show aswell as THE embodiment of laughter. Luckily Maud's fierce determination to retrieve it was fruitful and showcased her deep, albeit non-expressive, love for her sister. We have never seen her that angry before! It was frightening to the bone! Imagine if she stalked you with that passive-aggressive demeanor everywhere you went... brrr... 😨 Maud Pie's deadpan humor never fails to amuse me, and she seems wise in many ways. She may be emotionally restrained, but she's very aware of her feelings and you always know that she loves Pinkie very much. Her surprising abilities, like her potential 4th wall-physics-breaking ninja-like movements and Maud sense, tie into the quirky but charming, illogical traits of the Pie family, much like Pinkie's own fourth-wall-breaking antics. It's no wonder she's a fan favorite. The jokes involving Pinkie, Maud, and Rarity were on point - I absolutely loved them! The moral of the story, focusing on the intention behind gifts rather than the value, was beautifully illustrated through Pinkie's willingness to sacrifice her party cannon for what she thought would be the perfect gift. It was a touching reminder that true care is about the thought and love behind a gift, not its extravagance and neither a competition. Another point is that Pinkie sees every gift from her sisters and friends as “the best gift ever”, thus she never stood a chance at beating them 😅 However, one thing I didn’t quite understand was why Rarity didn’t just sew a new pouch for Pinkie Pie. Maybe it was a too straightforward solution that got overlooked in the plot, or perhaps it was a matter of time since Rarity might have needed more time to finish it, which would have been after the trip and therefore too late for the PSSSD. - We may never know. Overall, it was a pretty decent episode. We got to see more of Manehattan, enjoy Maud Pie, and witness the surprisingly good chemistry between Rarity and Pinkie Pie, with all their humor. But seriously, screw the guy who bought the party cannon from a desperate Pinkie that was in such dire need of that Rock Pouch! And no, it’s not weird to like this episode more than the premiere. It’s totally reasonable, especially since the premiere wasn’t anywhere near bad or a masterpiece, but rather (sadly) one of the lesser-rated finales of the show. Also it's these character-driven stories that sometimes resonate the most. Thanks again for your insight to this episode! - Always a bliss to watch. 💙

2024-08-06 01:15:09 +0000 UTCI love maud and I agree with you! who doesn’t love her! she’s so awesome, great episode the rock pouch was a great gift but pinkie can’t give up her party cannon! and true it hurts the most when pinkie gets sad and depressed, because she’s so happy normally and just so much laughter and joy, I love the pinkie rarity combo it worked perfectly! I also enjoy seeing more of manehatten I’d say this may have been better than part 1 and 2 like you said
