Yeah this was amazing and so sudden! The “haha” into “oh shit…” was PERFECT. The VAing this episode was so real and spine chilling. Amethyst just needs a hug 😭. And yes I wonder so much about kindergarten. That alone could be it’s own series. Can’t wait to uncover more!

Amethyst suddenly opening up and losing it was painful but she’s so hurt. Also great way to intertwine that with her background. And yes that wrestling from the early season! Yes knowing her baggage definitely makes me appreciate and empathize with her more. Love how we are getting these bits with the gems. Pearl with the rocket and home comes to mind. Beautiful but difficult episode but it’s fantastic!!

The way they build up the tension from starting with a silly concept (the no home boys) and how amethyst’s attitude changes, along with the dialogue exchanges between her and pearl ramping up the energy. Just some really, really moving lines and Michaela Dietz’s voice performance as Amethyst is just amazing as always. It also leaves you wondering so much about the world and the kindergarten and everything. I think amethyst’s arcs is one of my personal favorites in the show (though everyones’ is amazing tbh).

2024-08-07 05:12:07 +0000 UTCThis is one of my favorite episodes in this season, very emotional and intense amethyst has some emotional issues we’ve seen it before with her doing the secret wresting in the past because she was angry and not feeling like a gem, and now we see it again with her home the kindergarten, its a scary looking place, she’s insecure about coming from this place for many reasons I’m not gonna spoil, she feels like the other gems thinks she’s bad or a mistake because she isn’t from space like they are and that she comes from a bad place, I feel bad for her she definitely struggles with this stuff and it’s really heavy, and I like how they are explaining her story background on the characters is what we need, great quality episode, also I loved the on the run song it’s very good, amethyst is so many fans favorite gem because she’s so relatable and realistic and also playful and fun. Also you’re right Steven universe has very high ups! Although sometimes with SU these emotional episodes are hard to watch but in a really good way similar to adventure time.
