Huh okay. Think I forgot to reduce the audio in those parts. I’ll be better about that. Sorry for the scares. They’ll be gone in EQG and S7 (🤔🤔) 😂

not the clap, the whole audio was suddenly louder than usual and yes pseudo-magic sounds kinda right.

Genuine shock and eureka moment with Trixie. it’s PERFECT 😭😭😭. What a return and instant puzzle piece fit!
Yes Twilight this episode made us head scratch as to why she is the princess of friendship as her treatment and disapproval of Trixie was toxic. It’s an honest but complicated situation because starlight’s new friend was someone Twilight had an awful experience with. So she took the emotional approach here which was awful. THEN Trixie didn’t help as she used this as a way to spite Twilight which came off extremely selfish and insensitive. This is why this episode is so amazing because it takes the concept of forgive but never forget which strains everyone.
Huh. I guess it would be like a pseudo magic or something. Or is said that its “magic-less”. That’s an interesting point.
Yes and then Starlight makes an impulsive decision because she is rightfully hurt but it isn’t the proper thing to do as she clearly wanted to help her new friend but as we know, Twilight didn’t allow that.
Honestly I don’t ship often but I just love their friendship and how perfectly they match 😅
Oooo yes. At the time it didn’t occur to me but that was definitely a suicide attempt. I think I had assumed it was going to get resolved so I never thought it was serious but no doubt she was hopeless about it all. Yes maybe a little guilt tripping and blackmail 😅
Yes they have won over my heart. I NEED to see them hang out, in the background, everything! When MLP writes drama, it’s always an amazing time!
Oh the clap at the end? Sorry I do that instinctively 😂. But I’ll try to me mindful of that going forward

- Some notes/thoughts/facts: -
The title is a play on the phrase, "No second chances".
So Celestia is coming to town, wanting to know how the friendship lessons are going.
I have to admit... Twilights task to make a new friend just a day before Celestia is coming over seems kinda unfair... even though Ponyville is as Starlight said the "friendliest place in Equestria"...
Starlight Glimmer: "New friends? Hey, maybe I'll just force friendships by magically enslaving the entire population of Ponyville!" - much too soon my dear... i fear she very much would be able to if she wanted 😨
- Good thing she was realizing that it was a bad joke...
And Starlight just happens to put her foot in everything...
Starlight is just too good in making Cakes with her magic, Mrs. Cake is not amused...
...and is Pinkie assaulting her here?
https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/2/2b/Pinkie_licks_cake_off_Mrs._Cake_S6E6.png
Big Mac and Starlight...is not a combo I would approve of, they're very much different.
And one thing is clear now... Starlight doesn't know when to use magic or not...
https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/1/1c/Applejack_scowling_at_Starlight_S6E6.png
- I absolutely second that face! 😡
Rainbow das did a Sonic Boom without the Rainbow... is she too fast for colors now? 😅
Also Starlight doens know what a Wonderbolt is and the animators had too much fun with Rainbows face:
https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/d/da/Rainbow_Dash_%22never_heard_of_the_Wonderbolts%3F%21%22_S6E6.png
🤣
Angel loves Starlight it seem... (former) villains attract it seems... 😅
Starlight Glimmer: "[groan] What is going on? This is Ponyville! If I can't make a friend here, there's gotta be something wrong with me!" - Maybe... or Twilight should have given you more time..?
"You are channeling your Twilight" - Ed'2024 🤣🤣🤣
- This got me laughing way too much...
Your face as you realized that it was the grrreat and powerrrful Trixie! Hilarious!
You know what they say: two peas in a pot of being a villain in the past... - they easily can relate with each other.
And Twilight is absolutely not happy about it...
"The Humble and Penitent Trixie's Equestrian Apology Tour"... yes a working title... still not a good one 😅
Twilight Sparkle: "[sighs] You're right. I trust you."
- saying that to her but not doing and still trying to replace Trixie - That wasn't the best course of action...
The chemistry between Trixie and Starlight is very interesting, they bond about their past and share kinda the same experiences which leads them to be open with each other - Its great to watch.
You know something is afoot if Twilight is sitting in a bush... the last two times also didn't end too well... ("Feeling Pinkie Keen" / "Lesson Zero")
Twilight Sparkle: "[hushed] So, how's it going with your new friend?"
Starlight Glimmer: "[sarcastically] Great. Thanks for asking in a completely not creepy way."
- 🤣
Starlight Glimmer: "So back at your castle when you said "I trust you", you meant "I don't trust you"."
- that is sadly the case...
Twilight Sparkle: "But do you really think Trixie's the one to help you with that?"
Starlight Glimmer: "Wow. Trixie was right. You're not really giving her a second chance. I wonder what that says about how you feel about me"
- this absolutely hits hard... but Twilight is sometimes so much in frenzy, she doesn't know when to stop...
The character Hoofdini is a reference to the famous illusionist Harry Houdini.
The poster art for Trixie is also modeled after a 1921 poster of the magician Bernardo.
Starlight Glimmer: "I meant stage magic."
[...]
Starlight Glimmer: "Not if you could use real magic."
- So there is a difference between them? Is stage-magic fake-magic? - I also wonder... in a world of magic is stage-magic truly a thing anypony would like to see?
But, considering that magic itself is invisible to most ponies, stage-magic might be just a way to compensate it by making it overly vivid and bold with the help of explosions, fireworks and tools and so on... - what do you think?
Now the dilemma starts... Trixie is asking Starlight to attend the show as her assistant, but the dinner is also at the same time. Starlight is so pissed about Twilights distrust that she stays by Trixie without any info to Twilight - this had to come down hard...
Also Princess Celestia knows Twilight enough, I think she knew very well that something is going on...
https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/7/7f/Twilight_getting_very_worried_S6E6.png
Twilight Sparkle: "Starlight Glimmer should be here, heh, any minute, heh. Any minute now... [nervous laugh] [forced] How about I introduce everyone? Our friendship lessons are going so well! She made three new friends! She has such great taste in friends. I don't know where she would've learned that! [nervous laugh]"
- Just one word: cringe...
Trixie: "A-ha! You still don't trust me! But guess what, princess? It doesn't matter if you want to give me a second chance or not. Starlight had to choose between you and me, and she chose me! Your pupil chose me, so ha! I win!"
Starlight Glimmer: "You win? That sounds like you just made friends with me to beat Twilight."
Trixie: "Exactly! [beat] Wait! I mean, no! I got caught up in the moment. I like you. Beating Twilight is just a bonus. [gasps] Saying that didn't help, did it?"
- puh... thats heavy to take in - Starlight had finally someone who understood her and this very someone was still in a way using her to get back at Twilight - even though it wasn't entirely Trixies intention...
And after Starlight rushed off, Trixie knew she made a mistake and this time with someone she really liked. This causes her to be very distraught and still wants to do the proclaimed "Moonshot Manticore Mouth Dive" which she herself said that she cant't teleport out without Starlights help - which means, she knew all too well this could cost her life... - She is attempting suicide so to speak...😱 in a kids show... 👀
Twilight Sparkle: "Starlight, when I first came to Ponyville, Princess Celestia gave me room to make my own decisions and my own friends. I need to give you the same freedom. I shouldn't have tried to pick and choose your friends for you. Just like me, you have to make your own decisions and your own friends."
- exactly! Twilight finally realizes that she kind of shot over the line by adamantly introducing her to other friends and shouldn't have meddled, even though it was in concern for Trixie's influence on Starlight.
Trixie: "Starlight? If you're out there and you still want to be friends, let's be great and powerful together! [slightly echoing] Please?"
- isn't that kind of blackmailing, if she is threatening Starlight with it? 😅 - but no that's not the case... she is just wishing for this to happen, but the probability that Starlight wouldn't have had stepped in was incredibly high, because she could have been who knows where by now...
-> So this was a full on suicide attempt.
And luckily Starlight was still close-by and was able to help.
https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/f/fa/Trixie_calls_Starlight_her_best_friend_S6E6.png
- You can't tell me that there isn't more than just "friends" 👀
Cranky: "How do you get your hair to do that all the time?"
- No, seriously - how? - He is indeed asking the important questions...
They both met at the spar, and were talking to each others about other ponies expectations of them due to their past. Maybe they talked about what they did - or they didn't considering that Trixie says this: "Only when I'm wearing a soul-sucking evil amulet, so I don't think that counts. Funny story. Don't need to get into it."
---
In the Season 6 premiere, Twilight said, "Well, I'm not one to dwell on the past." But considering this event, that statement didn't age well. Am I disappointed? A little... But when you think about just how terrifying Trixie's actions were when she went power-mad at Twilight in "Magic Duel":
- She dueled Twilight and banished her from Ponyville.
- She cast spells on Twilight's friends, even regressing or aging them.
- She trapped everyone in Ponyville under a massive magical forcefield.
- And she enslaved and tortured them if they didn’t obey her.
It's no wonder Twilight might still have nightmares about what happened. Such experiences leave scars, and it's understandable that she wouldn't trust Trixie so easily. In fact, your remark how it is the same as Twilight's suspicion toward Trixie to her distrust of Discord was on point.
And as "poor" as Twilights idea was, to replace Trixie with 3 other Ponies - she also was right at first about her, because Trixie was originally thinking about getting back at Twilight until she connected with Starlight that she saw the potential for true friendship because they genuinely got along.
Twilight's idea to replace Trixie with three other ponies might have seemed misguided, but she wasn’t entirely wrong. Trixie was motivated by a desire to get back at Twilight at first, but it wasn’t until she connected with Starlight that she saw the potential for true friendship because they genuinely got along.
Twilight isn't over what happened with Trixie, and while she’s forgiven her, it's not complete. This unsettles Starlight, who wonders if Twilight’s forgiveness of Trixie reflects her feelings about Starlight herself. But in my view, this episode isn't just about second chances - Twilight was just trying to protect Starlight. If you think about it, Twilights history with Trixie was far worse than with Starlight, and she never had the chance to get to know Trixie like she did with Starlight. So, while Twilight may have forgiven Trixie, she’s still hesitant to fully trust her, especially when it involves her student. Still, Twilight should have expressed her concerns rather than trying to choose friends for Starlight, but that might have been a displacement behavior to cope with this situation.
But here's where the dilemma intensifies: Trixie asks Starlight to be her assistant for the magic show, which happens at the same time as the dinner. Starlight, frustrated by Twilight’s distrust, decides to stay with Trixie without telling Twilight, leading to a tense confrontation between them all. Trixie’s outburst, gloating about how she won, because Starlight chose her instead of Twilight, revealed her lingering desire to outdo Twilight, much to Starlight’s dismay.
After Starlight rushes off, Trixie is caught off guard by her spur-of-the-moment remark and realizes that she hurt someone she genuinely cared about. She kind of pissed off a lot of ponies in the past and that's why Starlight was her sole ray of hope in the darkness. And she still drove her away with her high and mighty attitude towards Twilight without considering the consequences.
Trixie is left distraught and decides to go through with her dangerous "Moonshot Manticore Mouth Dive" without Starlight’s help, despite knowing it could cost her life. This act is essentially a suicide attempt, because she had no chance of surviving alone. Trixie was just clinging on a tiny sliver bit of hope that Starlight will come to her aid. - But there was a very real chance that Starlight might not - Not just because she wouldn't care (which was highly unlikely), but moreover couldn't, because she could have been anywhere by now... - It definitely was a bold move to show this dark and shocking moment in a kids' show...
Thankfully, Starlight was still nearby and manages to save Trixie in the end.
Overall, this episode was a surprise: We never thought to see Trixie again, especially not as a friend of Starlight and as a possible recurring character. Twilight learned a lesson as teacher, but foremost as friend to let Starlight choose her own friends, like Celestia did with her. And she was finally forgiving Trixie entirely. - Forgiveness is not easy, and this episode captures that struggle in a relatable way. It was a great episode all around.
Starlight and Trixie's friendship is genuine, great and powerful - it’s undeniable how good they are for each other. Their shared experiences and redemption arcs create a unique bond, and their chemistry is undeniable. - They make a perfect pair - maybe even a romantic one! The shipping between them in the fandom got absolutely wild.
-
It was great seeing you rooting for them, it was genuine obvious how they won over your heart. Your conclusion was also "Perfect" so to say 😅 - Thank you for reacting to this 💙
Just one little suggestion a feedback though:
Could you please stop with these audio jumpscares at the beginning of you conclusion? Its not the first time this happened, maybe you forgot to even it out 😅

Oh wow! When you put it like that, you’re right! Adds much more meaning. Basically was done with life.
They are PB&J! I’m not sure why but it just feels like the perfect balance and friendship. Both need each other and it’s cute and beautiful.
Twilight not doing a good job at being the princess of friendship. Glad she learned from it but it was really poor way to handle the situation. But I’m glad it’s resolved and hope to see the two hit it off during the series! Also I like their colors together

Starlight saved trixies life in the end, that could’ve been taken in a darker way like her attempting suicide because she had given up on life cause of the situation with starlight and twilight lots of fans have seen it in that way, great episode, starlight and trixie are perfect for each other! The perfect friendship, and you’re right it definitely twilight showed twilight in a different light she learned a lesson to let starlight make her own friends and to finally forgive trixie for her past and starlight gained a new friend!

The combination is truly beautiful and perfect! I love this for them in whatever way they are meant to be.
Yes that’s true but I do think it’s the same situation with “forgiving but not really”. He is a trickster so I get it but I see some parallels

Starlight and Trixie are a pretty popular ship. But even if you don't see them in that way, it's undeniable how good they are for each other even as friends.
Regarding your comment on Discord at the end, I think he's a special case. Twilight really does see him as a friend by this point, but she's smart enough to know you can never fully trust a virtual demigod of chaos.
