- Some notes/thoughts/facts: -
To have a skull and bones as cutie mark could be unsettling 😅
- also there is a minor error here, its not archaeologist, it's paleontologist 😏
Considering the cutie marks of Petunia Paleo parents, it could have been a pirate one 😅

Sooo manly and soo femininely singing at the same time... where are your boundaries? Is there something you can't do? 😉
The CMC are flaunting their talents (well deserved) and meet with a challenge in form of an untypical chipper Griffin waiting for them... called Gabby. - And she wants a cutie mark... 👀
Gabby is voiced by Erin Mathews, she also voiced the little buffalo "Little Strongheart" from "Over a Barrel" (S2E21)
Scootaloo: "Gabby, why do you even want a cutie mark? - It doesn't seem like a very... griffon-y thing to want." - Yeah...
Twilight Sparkle: "I've read every book on the subject, and I've never read a thing about any creature other than a pony getting a cutie mark."
Twilight Sparkle: "Um, I don't know if any of you remember, but using magic to get a cutie mark never really works out all that well." - All these callbacks in this episode 😅
"Call of the Cutie" (S1E12): Twilight unsuccessfully tries to make one magically appear on Apple Blooms flank
"The Cutie Pox" (S2E06): Apple Bloom uses one of Zecora's ingredients to make it appear, but it has some serious side-effects.
Yeah Gabby is a little bit annoying, but it just shows her enthusiasm and happiness.
The CMC embark on an impossible task for the slight chance, that it might still happen.
The song "Find the Purpose in Your Life" is a neat little banger, and yes the voice ("Michelle Creber") of Apple Bloom got much better since the beginning. She is a professional singer now
- here are some of her songs:

Gabby is good at everything... "its frightening".
An enthusiastic Twilight is soo adorable.
But the slight chance slipped away, and it was still an impossible task...
Scootaloo: "Gabby, finding your special purpose doesn't have to be about being good at something. It's about feeling good about something inside."
Apple Bloom: "And it looks like your destiny is a whole lot like ours – helping others. And you don't need a symbol on your flank to know that."
- And there it is, no cutie mark, but a purpose and the lesson of this show. And the CMC found another way to get her some cutie marks, made ones out of wood. he even get's to be a CMC-Member for Griffonstone, kind of like Babs is for Manehattan. But you are also right, it was way better than her introduction.
Gabby got even her own cute-ceañera

This episode introduces us to the Cutie Mark Crusaders (CMC) once again showcasing their talent for helping others discover their true purpose. Their reputation for guiding others has grown so much that it even reaches the distant land of Griffonstone in a way.
Here, we meet Gabby (Gabriella), a griffon who stands out as the polar opposite of the typical griffons we've seen before. Unlike the usual gruff and self-centered griffons, Gabby is cheerful, forward, and incredibly eager to help, which immediately makes her a unique character. I find her design neat and appealing, and she proves to be highly capable in everything she does. While some fans felt Gabby came dangerously close to being a "Mary Sue" (a character without flaws), her overwhelming eagerness and enthusiasm add layers to her character, preventing her from falling into that category.
Gabby has a deep desire to receive a cutie mark, a trait inherently reserved for ponies. She explains that this desire stems from the time Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie visited Griffonstone to help Gilda, which left her inspired by the positivity and sense of purpose that ponies experience through their cutie marks. Although she wasn't able to receive one, her journey sparks questions about how cutie marks function and whether non-ponies, like griffons, could ever acquire them. The episode subtly explores the possibility that non-ponies might share in the "magic of purpose" without needing an actual cutie mark, expanding the lore surrounding them.
Twilight Sparkle is particularly excited by this notion, seeing it as a sign of harmony extending beyond ponykind, potentially opening new doors for her friendship missions. This also raises interesting questions about characters like Zecora, whose "cutie mark" might not be a true cutie mark but rather a cultural symbol or tattoo, which is something touched upon in the comics if I remember correctly. Also, the cutie marks are magic because Tirek was able to to steal the magic of every pony-species and the marks disappeared with it.
The episode's central lesson revolves around the idea that finding one's purpose is more important than having a physical mark to represent it. Gabby's story highlights this beautifully. Despite not being able to receive a cutie mark, her true purpose aligns with the CMC's: helping others. Her enthusiasm and desire to assist mirror the early days of the CMC before they earned their own cutie marks. By the end, she becomes an honorary member of the CMC, reinforcing that purpose transcends symbols. Her integration into the group also serves as a step toward restoring Griffonstone's honor, much like Gilda's efforts to spread friendship there.
Overall, this was a heartwarming episode with a valuable life lesson. It raised fascinating questions about the nature of cutie marks, introduced a lovable new character in Gabby, and treated us to a great song along the way. Gabby's addition to the CMC feels both meaningful and promising, making her a standout in the series.
