true words 😄

No two parter but still amazing and fitting. Felt like a starlight emotional two parter. Trixie is a pick me girl 😂. But you’re right about her growth of powers! Subtle but it is some progress for her even if it’s just teacups 🍵 🍵🍵🍵🍵🍵🍵🍵🍵 I loooove the contrast between her and the mane 6. The fun and utopia like mane 6 vs the struggling and voiceless starlight and trixie. The ending… maybe of them moving on and furthering their life? Oooo this made me sad to think about 😭 Yes the realization trixie had of starlight’s feelings was wholesome and warm. It’s all the words we want to here. Sorry I need a moment 😭😭😭😭 And when trixie got yelled at, her being uncomfortable and confused did hit me. Think I just assume everyone should know what they are doing so that’s why she rubs me the wrong way since a lot of the time it comes off like they are doing it intentionally, especially since she’s like that with twilight and is snarky. But I do understand her more and would love to see more Pony interactions! But starlight’s entire suppressing sure did hit a chord. Quite relatable and maddening feeling trapped by communication. BUT it’s brilliant because this comes from a place that starlight has been scolded for and is one of her biggest traumas. and the ending maybe wasn’t climatic but I feel it was as real and healthy as one could get which I love! Glad you snouts the usual chats! And Yes I never realized how loud it is. It now closed.

Oh thank your celestia for…. Providing that 😅😅 But I loved seeing celestia be herself and even showcasing the same characteristics that twilight has. Everything just makes sense and is touching and hilarious. Oooooh that is interesting and quite the theory. It would make sense. And maybe the murals of the 6 were made afterwards for the story but what if it was always that way 🤔 The starlight trajectory is interesting amongst everyone but I feel as many have stated, her work isn’t done yet. It was just an eerie similar situation that twilight was in. But I suppose even twilight made many mistakes and was still learning even after being a alicorn. Still, it seems a bit too early and I enjoy seeing Starlight here. But overall while it’s odd to not have this be the usual two parter, it actually is more emotional and reflective than the parts!

= All Bottled Up = As these are 2 episodes... i have to post it in two posts... - Some notes/thoughts/facts: - Yeah no two-parter, but an interesting follow up episode! 😏 I wonder what Twilight thinks about having so much teacups in the kitchen and the missing plates etc? https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/2/24/Spike_washing_teacups_in_the_kitchen_S7E2.png - at least Spike isn't aggravated by it 😅 - how many times did Trixie do that to create so much?! Aside from that... isnt it frightening, that this magic is able to create living things..? 😨 https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/9/90/Starlight%27s_pastry_bag_turns_into_teacup_poodle_S7E2.png - Magic sometimes seems to have no bounds... As much as I like how Trixie is able to do magic and embracing it, her wording is sometimes very off: Trixie: "Be impressed by me!" 🙄 I'd rather not have her in the intro photo, at least not right now. She's just not quite there yet to deserve that 😅. Starlight Glimmer: "And I promised Trixie we'd practice more magic. It might be better if the castle was empty, if you know what I mean." Starlight Glimmer: "We'll take good care of the castle while you're gone." - nice foreshadowing... Trixie just cant stop to put her hoof into every blunder there is to anger Starlight... "Mini-Twilight" 🤣 I love that escape room! It's screaming Twilight-licious! Rainbow Dash: "Hah! Griffons barely like each other! We're basically the poster ponies for amazing friendships! So get your quill ready, bub! You're gonna have to write down a new record!" - that didnt age well... 👀 Spike was lucky he decided to move out of the way - Trixie hit the table, which happens to be the friendship map. It's completely understandable that Starlight fainted after seeing that... But I wonder, does Trixie even know what this table is and what it represents? If not, it makes sense why she's so calm about it - she probably thought it was just an ordinary table... So... all bottled up heh? Literally! https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/f/ff/Starlight_starts_bottling_her_anger_S7E2.png Trixie: "... and that you might be upset with me for some weird reason. But then I remembered – you never get mad at me." - This could have been your cue Starlight... And I still don't believe Trixie was intentionally trying to take advantage. She's just that self-absorbed and completely oblivious. I love the contrast between Starlight and Trixie, and the Mane 6 plot in this episode... Starlight doesn't seem to be doing too well here. It looks like trapping her emotions is taking its toll, leaving her emotionless... - duh! 😅 https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/7/70/Starlight_Glimmer_glaring_at_Trixie_S7E2.png https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/3/39/Starlight_Glimmer_looking_very_weak_S7E2.png https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/7/7d/Trixie_babbling_S7E2.png - Trixie: "Are you okay, Starlight? Because you seem a little, uh, what's the word..." - "lch-bh-ba". - Is that even a word? Starlight Glimmer: "[tired] Okay, we better start moving if we want to make it to the Crystal Empire" How is it even possible to teleport things even that far away? "Magic" https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/c/c2/Bulk%2C_Granny%2C_and_jeweler_glaring_at_Trixie_S7E2.png - Trixie should be really glad that Bulk chose not to hit her - Granny Smith was the one instead 😅 The Mane 6 finished the escape room... by a whisker... and the whole time I thought... "oh come on turn the darn key! It's still not over!!!" - They could have beaten the record 3 minutes short. And of course, a song starts playing - I'm not sure why, but "Best Friends Until the End of Time" is an absolute banger for me. I love how it highlights the Mane 6's friendship, especially in contrast to Starlight's dilemma at that moment. You're absolutely right about the dynamic between Starlight and Twilight - it's such a compelling contrast. The song also marks the beginning of a new chapter for Starlight, while the Mane 6 seem further along their journey, possibly nearing the end of...well...whatever that might be. What do you think it is? Anyway, have some nice remixes... MASHUP "Dance Magic Until The End Of Time (Retro)": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sfvo1kbhJ0U Aurelleah Remix: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wORAmk7t4OM 174UDSI Remix: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XIEKxRZbOxw Neu KatalYst DnB Remix: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HF6eFqq-09c That transition at 43:10 Rainbow Dash: "Aw, nuts!" [...] Trixie: "Nuts!" 🤣 Granny Smith: "And you don't always... [pants] ...have to bring up my dark past!" 😅 Bulk seems to have a lot of jobs... - heavy lifter and athlete - spa pony - nut seller Trixie: "Not gonna lie, hearing you and those random ponies say all those terrible things about me wasn't easy. But I needed to hear it. Why didn't you just tell me how you felt?" Starlight Glimmer: "I didn't want to lose you as a friend." Trixie: "Pfft! Come on! It'd take a lot more than that to lose me. Our friendship is stronger than a few angry words." Starlight Glimmer: "And a magical temper tantrum?" Trixie: "Listen, I'd take that over the boring pony you were becoming any day. The Starlight I love is passionate, lively, and yeah, sometimes angry. Those are my favorite parts of you. That, and the fact that you forgive me every time." - so wholesome... And finally its revealed that the table suddenly appeared at the spa where they first met, which is adding a nice touch to the wholesome vibe of their previous conversation. - But seriously: Did no one ever question why a table just appeared out of thin air? Trixie: "We'll meet you there! [to Starlight] Quick! Do you have a spell that will make the spa ponies forget that the map table was there?" Starlight Glimmer: "Haven't you learned anything about using magic to solve your problems?" Trixie: "No. If we learned that lesson, how will we ever have fun?" - its not the dark side, but the gray area they are going for huh? 😅 --- The follow-up episode provides us a much-needed development for Starlight Glimmer's character, particularly in contrast to the season premiere, which left some viewers questioning the lack of significant change for her. It seemed like the premiere returned her to the status quo without pushing her forward, but this episode gives clarity on why her "graduation" from Twilight's friendship lessons was a key moment - Much like Twilight's journey at the start of the series, Starlight is starting to learn friendship in her own unique way. In this episode, Trixie's insensitivity and lack of awareness drive Starlight to frustration. Instead of confronting Trixie directly, Starlight (fearful of her darker tendencies) uses magic to bottle up her negative emotions. This, of course, backfires, as the bottled emotions eventually escape and affect others. Starlight's struggle with emotional control echoes her past as a villain, showing that her journey of self-improvement is still ongoing. - The core lesson Starlight learns is about the dangers of suppressing emotions rather than expressing them. She fears that openly communicating her frustrations with Trixie might push her away, but in the end, Trixie doesn't abandon their friendship. Instead, Trixie acknowledges Starlight's concerns, which strengthens their bond. Trixie, on the other hand, continues to be her well-meaning yet frustrating self. Her ego and inability to read social cues frequently land her in trouble, especially with Starlight. Despite this, she is endearing in her own way. When Starlight finally tells her off, Trixie acknowledges that she needs this feedback to understand when she's wrong - a sign of her own gradual development which shows that Trixie is learning as well, albeit at a much slower pace 😅... - While it would have been interesting to see Trixie interact more with the other members of the Mane 6, her relationship with Starlight is a rich source of character growth for both of them. On the magical front Trixie continues to grow and improve her magical abilities with the help of Starlight. One notable achievement is that she learns how to teleport, which is particularly impressive considering her earlier, more limited magical skills. Many didn't expect Trixie to master such an advanced spell, suggesting that her previous lack of versatility in magic may have been due to insufficient education rather than a lack of potential. Trixie had previously relied on the Alicorn Amulet to perform more powerful magic, which raises the question of whether the amulet simply made it easier for her to channel her magical focus and infused her with some knowledge. This suggests that Trixie has always had the capacity for stronger magic, but needed the right tools or guidance to unlock it. Furthermore, Starlight's comment about magic being influenced by emotions and thoughts adds another layer to this idea and how magic works. It seems that in this universe, the strength of a pony's magic is also tied to their emotional state. This is reinforced by Starlight's experience when she was unable to perform magic after bottling up her emotions, highlighting the strong connection between mental and magical energy as well as knowledge. The episode's moral centers on the importance of handling emotions constructively and being honest with friends. Suppressing negative feelings is unhealthy, and while some viewers may have interpreted the episode as condoning angry outbursts, it's actually a lesson in calmly and openly addressing frustrations to maintain healthy relationships. As you said, friendships aren't always easy or ideal, and compromise is essential when interests don't align. Which is an endeavor a lot struggle with. The subplot featuring the Mane 6, while viewed by some as unnecessary filler, contrasts nicely with Starlight's struggle. Their unity during an escape-room challenge shows how far they've come as friends, presenting an idealized version of friendship that Starlight and Trixie are still working toward. The humor in this subplot, especially Twilight's overly serious approach to a friendship retreat-turned-escape room, adds levity and emphasizes the progress the Mane 6 have made together. Overall, this episode stands out for its engaging character dynamics, particularly between Starlight and Trixie, as their friendship deepens. It also offers several humorous moments, like Bulk Biceps juggling multiple jobs, a missed record due to a spontaneous song, and Trixie's obsession with teacups. The upbeat, non-villain song was catchy and cleverly used as part of a running joke. This episode delivers both entertainment and a valuable lesson, making it a strong continuation of the season premiere. And while I am a little bit disappointed about the resolution of the bottled emotions, which didn't lead to some kind of explosive magical event as some fans might have expected, the overall outcome still felt satisfying and appropriate in the end in my opinion. 😅 - Both reactions were absolutely great, its fun to see you enjoying it and rambling about it - our opinions often align which is a good sign 😅 - Anyways, thank you! 💙 P.S.: Is your window open? The ambient-sounds were strong again there. 😅

= Celestial Advice = As these are 2 episodes... i have to post it in two posts... - Some notes/thoughts/facts: - Sometimes time is going on faster than one can imagine, again congrats to your first K! After most of the Mane 6 made their impression of each other, its Spikes turn... And he nailed her perfectly... I love that artstyle in the mirror... https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/d/d6/Twilight_%22the_first_thing_she%27ll_see_when_she_wakes_up%22_S7E1.png - It also has photos which are rlated to certain episodes - neat. Starlight is finally genuine smiling in the opening! - I also love that little detail! New Mane 4? Huh... 👀 - sadly no... Discord is in no way a real good cooperative guy and Thorax has a kingom to rule over. Poor Luna... https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/b/b4/Princess_Luna_struggling_with_Thorax%27s_medal_S7E1.png Princess Celestia: "It's a wonderful feeling, isn't it? Watching your student shine the way you always knew they could." Twilight Sparkle: "[laughs] My cheeks are sore. I don't think I've ever smiled this much in my life." Princess Celestia: "I can only imagine what that feels like." - We get to see more of Celestia's role as Twilights mentor. "Passing down the torch..." - Is absolutely right Ed Discord is at it again... instigating by indirectly planting seeds of doubt and insecurity into Twilights mind about Starlights "graduation"... Discord: "Obviously, you should have a grand master plan for her, the same way Celestia set you on the path that eventually made you a princess." - Princess Starlight... I thought the same... We finally get to see more of Celestia's personality in a non official way! - The last time this happened was in Season one "A Bird in the Hoof" where she was visiting them for tea to learn more about Twilights new friends. Twilight Sparkle: "I had years worth of friendship lessons ready to go, but when we were captured by Chrysalis, Starlight took charge and really stepped up. I don't think friendship lessons are enough for her anymore." Princess Celestia: "So you have an overachieving student. Sounds familiar." Spike: "[chuckles]" 🤣 Twilight Sparkle: "When I was your student, and you were in this place, you— Oh, no! You sent me to Ponyville! Which means it's time for me to send Starlight Glimmer away!" - 😱 Applejack: "Hmm. Wonder why she didn't tell any of us about it." Discord: "Probably because you're not as close as you think you are. [laughs] Just kidding." - Wow Discord... https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/8/81/Twilight_creates_a_Changeling_Kingdom_simulation_S7E1.png - Spike: "Cool spell." - That imagination-spell (virtual reality?) is is indeed cool! Princess Celestia: "Uh, this is Twilight's fantasy, Spike. There is no wrong way to fantasize." - Oh really? 🤔 I think you can imagine how the fandom took that up 😏 The possible negative outcome with the fly-swatter was very extreme 😅 Twilight Sparkle: "But it could! I can't just send her off to Celestia-knows-where without thinking it through!" Princess Celestia: "Hmm. I was not aware that I was an expression. An appropriate one, of course, for even I don't know the answer." 🤣 This bro-like friendship between Ember and Starlight was so hilariously over the top... I love that...😅 https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/c/c0/Starlight_and_Princess_Ember_chest-bump_S7E1.png Are they shooting at ponies? https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/0/0e/Fume_shooting_his_dragon_breath_S7E1.png Cute Flurry Heart clock: https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/b/b6/Starlight_makes_a_Flurry_Heart_cuckoo_clock_S7E1.png https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/b/ba/Starlight_and_Sunburst_pour_magic_into_the_circle_S7E1.png - Starlight Glimmer and Sunburst's use of a drawn circle to "materialize an object that was lost in the past", as well as the ritual's result in failure, mirror the similar plot point of the anime/manga series Fullmetal Alchemist in which lead characters Edward and Alphonse Elric use a Transmutation Circle in an attempt to resurrect their dead mother. And yes Twilight is getting intense with these... Celestia laughing this heartfully tells a lot, especially when she tells her side with Twilight as student. - Flashback time! - https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/b/ba/Flashback_to_Celestia%27s_School_for_Gifted_Unicorns_S7E1.png - so cute https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/c/c1/Princess_Celestia_%22I_must_send_her_away%22_S7E1.png - This moment is so sad, if you think about it, she lost her sister to Nightmare Moon and banished her to the moon, but still talks to her while she is on the moon, every day... and she got to know a special and personal student who is also her friend, but she had to send her away to give her a chance to bloom further. Princess Celestia: "I knew there was a special group of fillies in Ponyville..." https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/e/e9/Main_five_ponies_in_Celestia%27s_flashback_S7E1.png - interesting, how did she knew about them? And why? 🤔 Princess Celestia: "What if she runs into a manticore?" - Funny, because exactly that happened! Princess Celestia: "I loved having you as a student. You challenged me and taught me just as much as I taught you. I am embarrassed to admit it, but I was afraid if you made friends you wouldn't need me anymore." Twilight Sparkle: "Princess Celestia, that is so not true. I will always need you." Princess Celestia: "I think Starlight Glimmer might feel the same way about you. If that is what you're afraid of." Twilight Sparkle: "Maybe it is. Just a little." Spike: "[chuckles] Oh, it definitely is. Like a lot." Princess Celestia: "Here we are after all these years, Twilight. We are living proof that letting someone spread their wings doesn't mean you no longer have a place in their lives." Twilight Sparkle: "Thank you." - absolutely wholesome... 🥰 Princess Celestia: "And if you're still worried, you can always make her write you letters. [wink]" - So thats why 😅 Thats a sweet present: https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/c/ca/Starlight%27s_reflection_in_her_wall_mirror_S7E1.png - but I am missing AJ and Rainbow Dash here 😅 --- The Season 7 premiere is a unique and surprising one - Unlike previous seasons, which often kicked off with epic two-part episodes, this premiere is a standalone, more personal and character-driven one. While it might not feel as grand as earlier season openers, I appreciate it for focusing on deeper, more intimate moments between the characters. I think that the decision to avoid a two-parter could be linked to the upcoming MLP movie between season 7 and 8 (and I hope you are excited for 😀), which might have limited the scope of the season's opener. One of the highlights of this episode is Celestia's expanded role. It's heartwarming to see her and Twilight share meaningful conversations, with Twilight seeking advice from her former mentor. This gives us a much needed glimpse into a new side of Celestia. Usually portrayed as distant and authoritative, here we see her more vulnerable, especially in how she reflects on her past anxieties about sending Twilight to Ponyville. Her hearty laugh, a standout moment, shows a more relaxed and approachable side, something that not just me, but most fans have long hoped to see. This episode enriches the dynamic between Twilight and Celestia, showing a more of their teacher-student relationship. Celestia's personal struggles with mentorship over Twilight mirror Twilight's own dilemma about whether Starlight is ready to "graduate" and even be send away. Given Celestia's reference to Twilight's friends as "a group of special fillies", fuels a popular theory that Celestia may have suspected that Twilight's friends were the Elements of Harmony early on. This theory also aligns with the broader belief that Celestia knew far more than she may have revealed in the past. The Tree of Harmony, which bore both Celestia and Luna's cutie marks, as well as the same cutie mark Twilight would later receive, is a key piece of evidence. It's likely that when Celestia saw Twilight's cutie mark appear after the sonic-rainboom, she researched the event to uncover its significance. She then would have sought out the other ponies who had also gained their cutie marks at the same time, who, as we all now know, became Twilight's friends and the bearers of the Elements of Harmony, which originated from the Tree. 🤔 Twilight's anxieties take center stage in the episode. She envisions all sorts of worst-case scenarios if Starlight were to leave, which leads to some hilarious moments. Her over-the-top, exaggerated fantasies about what could go wrong bring humor to the episode, a classic showcase of Twilight's tendency to overthink things. Despite her fears, it's clear that Twilight's journey as a mentor parallels Celestia's own past experiences. As for Starlight, her "graduation" doesn't result in her departure or a clear next step in her journey. Some fans felt this leaves her character in a bit of a holding pattern, returning to the status quo instead of pushing her forward in a significant way. However, this also opens the door to speculation about Starlight's future. Will she become a mentor herself, perhaps to dragons or changelings? Could she even follow Twilight's path and become a teacher of magic or, as some fans hope, an alicorn? It's an intriguing question, but for now, Starlight's destiny remains uncertain. Discord, as usual, plays his part by stirring things up. His playful meddling adds another layer of humor to the episode, especially when he starts planting seeds of doubt in Twilight's mind about Starlight's graduation. His antics, including suggesting turning Celestia's castle into cheese, are classic Discord moments that keeps us entertained. It's always fun to watch him toe the line between being a nuisance and a help, leading some fans to wonder if his role in Twilight's decision-making might actually be part of a larger plan, perhaps one orchestrated by Celestia and Discord themselves? We may never truly know... 😏 The episode is filled with humorous and memorable moments. From Spike's impression of Rarity to Discord's chaotic suggestions, the humor is balanced well with the more emotional beats. Celestia's line, "There is no wrong way to fantasize", has sparked some fun discussions in the fandom, with some fans jokingly taking it as permission to let their imaginations and fan fictions run wild - (I am sure you are able to imagine as to what exactly that might have meant in its entirety 😅). There's also a bit of meta-humor when it comes to Celestia's reaction that she is also used as an expression for different things... I wonder though what she would think of being a meme within the fandom, especially her "Trollestia" persona. 😅 Overall, this episode does an excellent job of exploring the evolving relationships between Twilight, Celestia, and Starlight. The focus on mentorship, both from Celestia's perspective and Twilight's, provides a rich emotional core. Even though it's a one-parter, the episode feels packed with content, delivering personal and heartfelt moments. The flashbacks to Celestia's own fears about sending Twilight away adds depth to both characters, making this an opener that, while different in tone from previous seasons, still resonates strongly with all of us.

DeViruZz.eXe

Agreed lol trixie definitely went to far in this one haha 😂

Pinkie_applepie

I agree! Very underrated as it tackles more sentiment and personal struggles. Also love seeing more celestia and twilight in a similar role. Of course it’s too early but the path has been similar. Ughhhh Trixie. I love her presence and even look forward to seeing her but man she was not it this episode. But the message was important for everyone. Great stuff!! And twilight being twilight 😂

Ed

This premiere was really underrated, I fr thought they’d send starlight off but obviously it’s not time yet she’s not ready, it was very emotional the talks with celestia and starlight at the end getting her gift from twilight, such a great episode, and the second episode may have no been a continuation but it was a good follow up episode Trixie may be insensitive at times and very carefree but i love her lol she’s so funny, starlight bottled up her emotions very good symbolism for don’t bottle up your anger or it’ll bad for you, I loved the song in this episode lol 😆twilights friendship retreat for it to an escape room is such a twilight thing, and me too! I wish friendships were really like this it’s amazing
