Too much? Naw! I love that! 😅 I cant get enough of that! Your Wallflower comparison to Moondancer is interesting and yes fitting, never thought of that.

DeViruZz.eXe

Wow. This was such an unexpected gem! I hope my freaking out for sunset in Equestria and reuniting with celestia wasn’t too much. I was just so invested. And also beach episode will make anyone act up 🤣 Wall flower was amazing! I actually get some “if moondancer sought out revenge” with the whole “ignorance is bliss” approach. But still a great story about being forgotten, in the background. And I loved what you said about her inclusion and acknowledging being cured to isolation and loneliness. And did I love the more realistic resolve of wallflower. Exactly what I wanted! Trixie!!! The MVP. She was perfect in this one. And yes I’ve also stated how sunset and starlight are eerie similar! The memory stone! So powerful and lore heavy as you stated. I also took it as our progress not being seen in the eyes of others which then invalidates our growth if we look for other people to confirm it. Ahhh starswirl’s of course 😂. Banish banish. And okay clover, interesting interesting. Fantastic fantastic and one of my favorite things to come out of MLP!

- Some notes/thoughts/facts: - The opening music is fantastic, but maybe that's partly because the MLP intro has been overplayed - we probably heard it over 169 times by now 😅 Sunsets growth is second to Starlight's. The opening song, "We've Come So Far", features fantastic vocals and serves as a wonderful reminder since the first movie, especially with the nostalgic flashbacks! Sunset Shimmer: "Nice to meet you." Wallflower Blush: "I've been on the Yearbook Committee all year." Sunset Shimmer: "Oh! Um..." Wallflower Blush: "We met in ninth-grade English." - Wow... How had she been forgotten so completely? The comedy in this special is cranked to max 😂 Wallflower Blush: "I've been trying to get your attention for, like, half the song." Applejack: "[softly] Ain't she a quiet one?" Rainbow Dash: "Yeah. And we know some pretty shy people. Am I right?" Fluttershy: "We do? Who?" ... Rainbow Dash: "Well, I'm entrusting you not to put us next to "Best Muscles". Every time you close the book, it'll be like we're kissing Bulk Biceps!" Yeah you heard right, Beach day! Wow... Trixie, that was quite the way to bring up Sunset's past... And Wallflower Blush was again forgotten... or did she use the stone and we have forgotten that? 😅 I do like their beach-outfits: https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/1/17/Applejack_curious_about_Sunset%27s_powers_EGFF.png And suddenly... they forgot about Sunset... Everyones memory got altered.- Something strange is afoot. Finally, we get to see Sunset as a Pony again! - And she goes to meet with Celestia! 🤩 Sunset Shimmer: "[sighs] Princess Celestia, the last time we saw each other, I was your snide little pupil who betrayed and abandoned you." - That's quite the reflection 😏 Sunset Shimmer: "I mean that I come before you a changed pony, humbly asking for forgiveness, guidance, and knowledge." - Such a great moment... https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/b/be/Sunset_Shimmer_hugging_Princess_Celestia_EGFF.png We all are like: https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/c/c7/Princess_Twilight_happy_for_Sunset_Shimmer_EGFF.png Sunset Shimmer: "Sorry. I'm just used to hearing you say no student parking in the faculty lot. Heh-heh." Princess Luna: "This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power." Sunset Shimmer and Princess Twilight Sparkle: [giggle] 🤣😂 Twilights surprise about the restricted section of the Canterlot Library was great, and its funny that Sunset had to prevent her from being agape like a Codfish 😂 https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/8/8c/Sunset_closing_Twilight%27s_agape_mouth_EGFF.png Well didnt' work so well it seems: https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/c/ca/Sunset_and_Twilight_in_awe_of_the_secret_archives_EGFF.png Princess Twilight Sparkle: [prolonged gasp] "Oh-my-gosh-oh-my-gosh-oh-my-gosh-oh-my-gosh-oh-my-gosh! So many books all unread! Ancient historical artifacts! [gasps] I just... I thought...! I can't...!" [wheezes... even longer...] - Holy... Never seen her like that... 😆 Uuuh more lore... seems like an artefact called Memory Stone is at fault for the memory loss. Sure, you say it was obvious who the culprit might be, but Trixie's statements really threw us off track—she was gaslighting us the whole time. Trixie kept trying to defame Sunset just to get her way, which is exactly why she became a suspect - if it weren't for Wallflower's prior existence... Sunset Shimmer: "Princess Celestia has a sense of humor? Looks like I'm not the only one who's changed." - What does that tell us? Perhaps Celestia wasn't as open and warm with Sunset as she was with Twilight. Could it be that losing her first pupil, Sunset, made Celestia recognize her own shortcomings and vow to be kinder and more supportive with Twilight? 🤔 That's a cool poster: https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/f/fd/Trixie_reveals_her_prototype_yearbook_photo_EGFF.png Bonding moment: 😊 https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/2/22/Trixie_Lulamoon_%22you%27re_not_mean_anymore%3F%22_EGFF.png Sunset Shimmer: "What's in it for you?" https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/2/2e/Trixie_glancing_back_at_her_poster_EGFF.png Sunset Shimmer: "No way. Absolutely not!" Trixie Lulamoon: "Well, if you'd rather go on being the Biggest Meanie, that's fine by me." - Trixie remains the "manipulative blowhard" that Sunset once called her - but hey, at least she's willing to lend a hand... 😏 Trixie Lulamoon: "How about with what I call you? I'm thinking the Great and Powerful Trixie's... Pretty Decent Assistant-Detective-Helper Person." - oh Trixie... We get Trixie as an Detective... I thought she is a magician..? 😅 MAUD! Sunset Shimmer: "Is there anything you can tell us about it? Anything at all?" Maud Pie: [deadpan] "I can't tell much from a drawing." Sunset Shimmer: "Okay." Maud Pie: [deadpan] "Only that it's felsic-intrusive igneous, granular in texture, most likely arranged in an equigranular matrix, with scattered biotite mica and amphibole, at least sixty-five percent alkali feldspar by volume, with a melting point of twelve-fifty centigrade, plus or minus ten degrees. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful." - ...no she cant say anything at all... It must be either a skill or a curse to be so invisible that even a camera forgets you... https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/4/42/Sunset_holding_pages_of_student_photos_EGFF.png - Or maybe just the Memory Stone 😅 - How does that even work on a camera? 🤔 Talk about a coincidence... https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/9/9d/Trixie_talking_with_Wallflower_Blush_EGFF.png Turns out Wallflower is the culprit - Flashback time! If the stone was hidden to keep it out of the wrong hands (or hooves) why was there a written manual tucked into the same pouch? https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/e/e5/Memory_Stone_and_its_instructions_EGFF.png - not so clever anymore, Clover the... Clever... 🙃 And surprisingly, its song time! "Invisible" is such an unexpected pop song, would you believe me when I said it was sung by Shannon Chan-Kent, the singing voice of Pinkie Pie and VA of Silver Spoon? Well, there you have it. 😅 There are some good remixes: Memory Tale 2024 Remix: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KX95xdp0QkY (This one goes hard, and I love her Pony Design) 🤩 Wallflower & Zedd MASHUP https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r6h34kWuk8I Peasant Jay Remix https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-W3s9W8tEA I have to disappoint you, she was never in any background... well maybe she was, but she might have been invisible to the camera, like she was in the picture? We just don't know. Sunset disrupted Wallflowers song, there is an extended version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJbuD2IEMqY Sunset Shimmer: "You're about to see how mean I can get!" Trixie Lulamoon: "Whoa! Whoa-whoa-whoa-whoa! Let's not antagonize the person with the all-powerful mystery rock!" Wallflower Blush: "I don't like confrontation. Let's just... forget this ever happened!" Sunset Shimmer: "Don't erase—!" [whoosh] - And now they've been memory-erased, but Sunset was clever... she left the drone running. And I understand why you dislike it, however how else should they have found her? Trixie Lulamoon: "Long song, huh?" 🤣 - I love how they're teasing themselves with that nudge about the songs in EQG. Trixie Lulamoon: "Actually, the Wise and Moralizing Trixie was making a point. You said you didn't do anything." Sunset Shimmer: "I didn't! I wasn't mean to her at all!" Trixie Lulamoon: "But maybe it's not good enough to not be mean to someone. Maybe you have to be nice." - A moral and lesson by Trixie... that's surprising 😅 More bonding time! https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/7/7d/Sunset_playfully_punches_Trixie%27s_arm_EGFF.png Sunset Shimmer: [sighs] "At least when the sun goes down and everyone hates me forever, I'll still have one friend in the morning." Sunset Shimmer: "And I mean, she is the Greatest and Powerfullest Canterlot High School has to offer, so I guess I can't complain." - AHA! She acknowledged it! Wow, Trixie can finally use the magic of her smokebombs now? After all those failed attempts... it turns out the magic of friendship helped her pull it off! 😄 Wallflower Blush: "I wanted to teach you a lesson by erasing your friends' good memories of you. But obviously that didn't work. But what if I erased all their memories of high school?" Sunset Shimmer: "You can't! You'd be stealing their memories of each other!" Sunset Shimmer: "I've ruined their friendship once before. I'd rather give up my own memories than let it happen again!" - And now comes the confrontation that truly hits hard. It’s absolutely heartbreaking to watch - even now, it’s still difficult. The slow drain of memories, one after another, until she no longer even remembered being human... it was terrifying. The HuMane 7 are back! - With a new form! (BUY OUR MERCH!) 😂 https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/1/19/Transformed_Mane_Seven_look_down_at_Wallflower_EGFF.png - No for real... they are looking good 🤩 Another surprise, no Equestrian Magic possessed enemy this time! 😉 Yeah... you wished for a change-up... you got a change-up! Sci-Twi: "Wallflower! You have magic you do not understand! But it is nothing compared to the Magic of—!" Pinkie Pie: "Yeah, yeah, we get it. Light her up, ladies!" 🤣🤣🤣 Thats new! - And I Like that: https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/8/84/Mane_Seven_unleashing_their_magic_EGFF.png https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/2/21/Beam_of_rainbow_light_blasting_through_EGFF.png Wallflower Blush: "I'm so ashamed. When I first found the Memory Stone, I only erased little things – awkward hellos, saying the wrong thing, literally any public speaking..." Wallflower Blush: "But it's no excuse. I was so used to erasing memories that I got completely carried away. I'm sorry for everything." - So she did that to herself..? Sunset Shimmer: "It's okay. I'm sorry, too. I may have stopped being mean, but a Great and Powerful friend helped me realize I still wasn't very nice to you. Everyone matters, Wallflower. No matter how insignificant or invisible they feel." - Trixie made an impression on her, cool. And they're friends now! Even greater! Biceps Kisser 😅 --- In this special, Wallflower Blush emerges as a unique and compelling antagonist that is plagued by her feelings of invisibility and isolation from others. Her story begins with a subplot involving a disagreement between Trixie and Sunset over the yearbook. Trixie wants her own page as "The Greatest and Most Powerfullest", but was ultimately shut down by Sunset, while she herself and her friends are nominated for the "best friends" page. This conflict adds to the tension, with Wallflower feeling even more excluded. Trixie's remark how Sunset's former title was "Biggest Meanie", reignites Wallflower's jealousy and resentment about Sunsets treatment towards her and she begins to doubt whether Sunset's reformation is genuine. So to get back at Sunset, she uses the Memory Stone's power to selectively erase memories, leaving Sunset's friends and schoolmates remembering only her past as a bully. The HuMane Six, with the exception of Sci-Twi, recall only the negative aspects of Sunset's past behavior, and Sci-Twi remembers Sunset yelling at her during the Friendship Games. This erasure isolates Sunset, making her feel alone and powerless. Desperate to understand what's happening, Sunset seeks help from Princess Twilight in Equestria. This leads to one of the most emotional scenes in the specials: Sunset's reunion with Princess Celestia. Their heartwarming moment of reconciliation is a highlight for me, as Sunset seeks forgiveness for her past actions and Celestia reveals she missed her. This beautifully captures Sunset's growth and the deep bond between her former mentor and student, making it one of the most iconic moments in the episode. Trixie's role is both comedic and crucial to the story's suspense. While Wallflower's involvement becomes clear, Trixie's exaggerated accusations and her musings on the fragility of memory cast doubt on Sunset's innocence. Trixie even accuses Sunset of being mentally unstable, heightening the tension and making us question who the real culprit might be - especially for those who missed Wallflower taking the previous yearbook. After a confrontation between Trixie and Sunset, Trixie recognizes that Sunset is telling the truth and - surprisingly - begins to empathize with her. Both Trixie and Sunset feel misunderstood, which leads to an unexpected alliance. I loved how their growing friendship mirrors Trixie's bond with Starlight Glimmer in the pony world, showing a deeper connection between the two universes. The climax of the episode is gripping and fraught with suspense as Wallflower attempts to use the Memory Stone to erase the HuMane Six's memories of their entire school-life. In a desperate act, Sunset sacrifices her own memories of her time in the human world. What follows is one of the most intense and dramatic moments, as Sunset loses her memories piece by piece until she is left disoriented and utterly lost. The weight of the moment is palpable as Sunset grapples with the terrifying realization that she no longer knows where she is or what she has become. It is a raw, emotional plunge into fear and confusion so profound that, when I first watched it, I found it almost unbearable. The overwhelming sense of loss and disconnection made it impossible to watch without feeling the full weight of Sunset's sacrifice and the depth of her loss in my own heart. But luckily her friends recognize her sacrifice as a symbol of friendship, and help her out in facing Wallflower Blush. In the end, when the Memory Stone is finally destroyed, all memories are restored, and Sunset's friends remember her true character. The reconciliation between Sunset and the HuMane Six was incredibly wholesome, and Wallflower's eventual admission of her wrongdoings feels sincere. Sunset's decision to offer her friendship to Wallflower, despite everything, beautifully reinforces her 7th element of empathy. Wallflower's acceptance at the end, signified by her gardening club gaining new members (Yay Derpy!), brings her arc to a fitting close. It demonstrates how inclusion can heal feelings of isolation. Sunset's willingness to sacrifice her own memories to save her friends was a powerful display of how much she values her relationships. The final scene, where they retake their best friends' photo with Sunset included, provides a heartwarming sense of closure. The themes of forgiveness, the value of memories, and the emotional consequences of isolation are portrayed with depth in this special. The message, that being kind and making others feel included is essential, comes through clearly, especially in Wallflower's case. Her feelings of being overlooked for so long are relatable, and while her actions aren't justified, they're understandable. The episode makes an important point about how small moments of neglect can have significant effects on someone's sense of self-worth. Also Wallflower stands out because, unlike previous villains, she doesn't transform into a demon or evil entity. Her actions are grounded in real emotional pain, which is why her story resonates so deeply with viewers who have felt lonely or unappreciated. One of the most nostalgic and emotional highlights for me was Sunset's brief return to Equestria as her original unicorn self. This was a great callback to her origins in the My Little Pony universe and a beautiful reminder of how far she's come. The addition of the Memory Stone to the series' lore was another exciting element for fans like me who love the lore and mystical aspects of the show. The musical numbers, the ensemble song "We've Come So Far" and Wallflower's "Invisible" were standouts in the special. These songs topic where so contrary to each other captured the emotional essence of the story. Especially "Invisible" added an extra layer of depth to Wallflower's struggle of loneliness. The growing bond between Sunset and Trixie was another highlight. Their evolving friendship brought out the best in both characters and provided us a fresh dynamic that I really enjoyed. Trixie's role in this episode truly felt like the peak of her development in the series. The special also included lighter moments, such as the fun beach day scenes, which were a favorite among viewers due to obvious reasons. 😅 All the comedic moments, particularly Trixie's exaggerated personality and Twilights joy for the hidden library, provided us with a nice balance to the more serious emotional beats. Sunset's closing line about everyone mattering, even when they feel invisible or alone, was a deeply moving sentiment that perfectly encapsulated this specials core message. Overall, Forgotten Friendship was a standout episode that combined emotional depth, strong character development and impactful themes. The focus on memory, forgiveness, and inclusion made it a meaningful and memorable entry in the Equestria Girls series. I thoroughly enjoyed this episode, and it left me with much to reflect on. - On a side note, I love the lore that was build here around the Memory Stone: The Memory Stone is an ancient magical artifact from Equestria, crafted long ago by a sorceress who used its power to erase specific memories from anypony's mind. Capable of wiping out memories spanning years, the stone is a dangerous tool in the wrong hooves and hands. The sorceress who wielded the stone was ultimately defeated, and her reign of memory-erasing terror came to an end. Due to the Memory Stone's perilous nature, it was banished from Equestria, much like other magical artifacts that ended up in the the human dimension. The Memory Stone was lost to history, with its location unknown for many years. However, it was eventually discovered in the human world and it still maintained a direct connection to Equestrian magic. Though the exact nature of how these artifacts cross dimensions is often left unexplained, it's clear that powerful relics from Equestria frequently find their way into the human world, causing magical disruptions along the way. The sorceress who used the Memory Stone was defeated by Clover the Clever (you want to remember his name 😉), a historical figure from Equestria's past. Clover was featured as one of the founders of Equestria in the "Hearth's Warming Eve" episode. He is known for being an apprentice to Starswirl the Bearded and playing a crucial role in Equestria's founding. After defeating the sorceress, Clover tracked down the Memory Stone and banished it to the human world, hoping it would never be used again. Like teacher, like student - Starswirl was (indirectly?) at it again, banishing dangerous artifacts to other dimensions. It almost seemed like his favorite pastime, inadvertently dooming other worlds in the process. 😒😅 --- I was looking forward to your reaction to this Special and it was worth it. 😁 It's great that you liked it - Thanks for reacting to this 💙

DeViruZz.eXe

EQG lowkey has the unexpected peak moments and it hits every time! Beach episodes 😂 Loved how they played the forgotten aspects and the background aspects of wall flower. This was so fantastic!! This feels like amending fences where twilight went through so much but still was viewed horribly by moondancer. Crazy. And trixie was killer here!! Amazing pairing with sunset I need more Luna and Sunset 😂

Ed

I was so excited for you to watch this one! it’s definitely one my favorite eqg content, the fandom definitely freaked out when sunset made up with princess celesta that moment is very iconic, it’s a lot to take in, also everyone loved the beach day stuff lol for obvious reasons 😂, sunsets growth is so amazing and it’s crazy how it could just disappear like that, I love wall flower blush she’s a great antagonist because she’s super relatable who hasn’t felt alone and isolated and rejected by society I definitely have, so you feel her pain and her anger and it doesn’t justify what she did but you come to understand it and how sunset was very mean to her in the past and she thinks she hasn’t changed, the quote sunset said at the end was beautiful, everyone matters no matter how alone or invisible they feel bright tears to my eyes, it’s true and I loved Trixie she was definitely the highlight, this is like peak trixie here her character is absolutely perfect lol also yes I laughed so much during this one too had lots of funny moments lol Luna and faculty lot lmao great stuff!

Pinkie_applepie

Yes!!! This was AMAZING!!! Can’t believe I’m witnessing peak 😭😭😭. But loved how we got these two meeting and the domino effect of how they all influenced one another 😭

Ed

I knew you'd enjoy this one. In my ranking I'd probably call this the 3rd best piece of EG media after Rainbow Rocks and Friendship Games.
