Naw you’re good. You should see one the MLP guys. They sometimes give me a college thesis each episode 😂😂 That fight was amazing!!! So incredible and well choreographed I agree with it feeling a bit off. Ahh I okay I can it being a more looking back when everything is set in place. There’s always some good in the season so I’m very excited to get to them! And I’m sure I’ll call it out when/if they happen 🙂 Gotcha. I just said in the recent ep I watched that I like character driven stuff so I’m excited for whatever that means 😬

(And I apologize in advance for the length of this comment lolol) I think the Malachite and Alexandrite fight was so cool, I love Alexandrite’s final move with the light bow and the arrows taking the Crystal Gems’ forms, it’s very reminiscent of rose’s canon and I like that attention to detail! When it comes to the cluster, I think your reaction makes sense. It had such a big buildup, and the result can definitely feel anticlimactic in comparison. I personally think it’s cool that they took the route they did, but some of the writing was just a bit off in execution. I love how it sort of shows how much Steven’s powers — which we’ve seen are mainly powered by his empathy/emotions/mental state — are beginning to blossom due to him maturing over the course of the past 2 seasons. As Steven grows, so do his powers, and that unlocks lots of odd ways he’s able to connect with others. I think the way they handled the cluster slightly mirrors how Steven was able to help Peridot unite with the gems in an interesting way, but I agree that the dialogue didn’t convey it in a way I really really loved. But still, I think within the context of the full show, I learnt to appreciate it more as the first big stepping stone in showing just how much Steven is able to connect with others and help them through an introspective bond via his gem powers. For season 3 overall, I have to be honest, I think it’s my least favorite of the show. It has a lot of really really phenomenal episodes, but the weak episodes are… pretty weak. Not to sour your experience ofc! There are a lot of episodes in this season that a lot of people find to be their very favorites of the show (even some that won Emmys!) so there’s still lots to look forward to. I just think writing-wise, some of it is a bit off (and a little corny at times) for my taste. But it’s still highly enjoyable :) Season 3 focuses on a lot on character development and solidifying the team so when we enter S4, the base is ready for a lot more world/history lore. I don’t wanna give away too much cuz that’s annoying lol but just a heads up :) I’m really excited to see your thoughts as we go along!
