This is how you do it! I don’t want to keep taking down that RD parents episode but this is much better to explain the rift between the two. That was so fun seeing more of starlight and sunburst’s past and home! Yes definitely need some teen backstory 😂 Such a beautiful way to describe the family as friends. Amazing

2024-10-16 03:16:30 +0000 UTCThis episode is fantastic, it’s definitely better than the rainbow dashes parents one, it realistically shows the relationship between parents and children and how overbearing parents can be but at the same time still loving them and just wanting the best for them but going about it the wrong way, it’s interesting to see more backstory on starlight and sunburst, lol loved seeing starlights egelord emo room wish they would’ve went in ut and explored her past some, there’s a lot we don’t know about starlights past same with sunburst, I liked the nod at gentrification lol and the hipster ponies of this town, just a perfectly written episode, I couldn’t describe it better than you did, I hadn’t thought about family as friends either it’s a really cool way to think about it how family are your friends too.

That thought about parents being not just relatives but friends as well really engages me. Also my headcanon is that Starlight's parents got divorced when she was a filly, so that's why we don't see the mother and that's also one of the reasons why Starlight started to have an idea of general equality between ponies. But that's only my headcanon, so don't take it seriously.
