A good spike episode? SAY IT AINT SO?! Kidding. He’s had many many good ones at this point. Complete 180 for him! And body horror aside, an amazing and hilarious puberty showcase with the satisfying addition of wings! It’s felt great to see as he was flying with twilight. And Zecora and smolder came in so clutch! Love their support and guidance through it all. And dead rarity was too much 😂😂😂 Oooo yeah. Seems western cartoons loooooove the disgusting gross out stuff. I’ll never understand it

- Some notes/thoughts/facts: - "Peewee" is the Phoenix he rescued from the dragon-lands during "Dragon-Quest" in S2 Spike is having a Stone scale... and different kinds of problems reminiscent of typical puberty symptoms. Yeah I also dislike those "body-horror" episodes... But this one was really good. Twilight Sparkle: "I used to get terrible breakouts any time I had a final exam with Celestia. Who probably never had a blemish her whole life." https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/7/73/Twilight_pouts_in_resentment_of_Celestia_S8E11.png - Why do I like this face? The blue haired Mare you mentioned is called "Blueberry Curls" https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/6/6c/Bubblegum_Blossom_ID_S5E16.png - I also like her design! We get to know more about Dragon-culture, especially the puberty aspect... Yay! Zecora comeback! And Rarity has some allergy to Phoenix-Feathers... and also goes to Zecora for some ailment And a Roc appears (lured by the smell) and threatens Spike and his friends. Holy shit is this Bird big, I wonder how the ponies even survive in this world, without getting attacked by any of those or similar beasts all day? This absurd situation of Rarity being deaf and Spike having the molt all while a Roc attacks and they are all taken by the Roc is somehow too funny... Twilight shows up... also going to Zecora, just to find aut the predicament of her friends... deciding to join the fray... https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/5/5e/Twilight_firing_magic_at_the_roc_S8E11.png - Uuh, so fierce... Rarity: "This isn't the first time I've been in the clutches of a horrible giant creature, but it doesn't get any easier!" - She is referencing the same episode as spike was ("Secret of My Excess" S2E10) - When he got bigger due to his greed, and later captured Rarity... This 10 second scene when Spike is standing around, cast in stone and we see the Roc and Twilight fighting in the background... 😂 And he grew wings! this was way too overdue... Spike: "In the Dragon Lands, families make molters leave home. It's called the molt effect." Twilight Sparkle: "Well, this isn't the Dragon Lands, and molt effect or no, I don't want you going anywhere." Spike: "But I'm growing up. What if something even worse happens?" Twilight Sparkle: "You're supposed to grow up, but you'll always be you. And whatever happens, we'll get through it together." - Dawww 🥰 so wholesome... Spike: "I'm glad to help, Rarity. But don't you think there's wonderful things about flying that don't involve dresses?" Rarity: "Of course, darling. Flying will also be beneficial for you to help me with gowns, frocks, robes, shifts, skirts, minis, maxis..." [fades out] - Oh Rarity... 😅 --- Spike's long-awaited moment of getting his wings is one of My Little Pony's most powerful turning points, made all the more impactful by the journey we've watched him take over eight seasons. Finally moving from "baby dragon" to a stronger, wiser version of himself, his transformation doesn't just come with wings - it's a testament to his growth. Unlike Twilight's magical, sudden ascent to alicorn, Spike's wing development felt more real and earned by most, as it was a natural process that fans could embrace for its grounded approach, underscoring his journey and reflecting his steady path to maturity. The episode cleverly mirrors Spike's changes with "dragon puberty", humorously adding details like stone scales (a nod to acne) and "molt odor" (body odor), creating a relatable connection to adolescence. These funny touches make his transformation authentic while supporting deeper themes. His fear of being rejected by Twilight due to his molt recalls his oldest insecurities, especially his dread of abandonment. Moments from Season 2, Episode 21, where he questions his identity as a dragon amongst ponies, to the Season 3 premiere under King Sombra's influence, remind us of the vulnerability beneath Spike's playful exterior. Here, as his physical changes unfold, so do his worries about being pushed away by those he loves. Smolder and Zecora both play significant roles in helping Spike understand and cope with his transformation. Smolder's blend of teasing and wisdom, explaining the potential consequences of the molt and adding a dragon's perspective on what he's going through was interesting to watch. I also think that her teasing, while light-hearted, is balanced with genuine support, almost like a sibling guiding him through a rite of passage. Smolder's pride in dragon culture and her own experience with molting also add depth to her character, giving the audience a closer look at dragon customs, where parents often expect young dragons to fend for themselves once they mature. This insight into dragon culture enriches the world-building and adds weight to Spike's concerns about being left on his own. The episode also features an exciting, action-filled encounter with the Roc, a massive bird that poses a real threat. Spike's newfound ability to fly transforms the situation, allowing him to actively help and defend those he cares about, which was as thrilling as it was rewarding. Many fans, myself included, were thrilled by Spike's new wings, though the surprise got spoiled as some of the promotional materials were made public quite early on... Despite this, the scene still felt impactful and well-executed, and the overwhelmingly positive fan reactions reflect how long we've all been waiting for this moment, as the missing wings were a question that always stood out when Spike got compared to other dragons... There's also a delightful bit of nostalgia with Zecora's return, along with a brief appearance from Peewee, Spike's former phoenix companion, who has now matured as well. It's a subtle but meaningful touch, reinforcing the episode's overall message about growth and change. Everything and everyone grows up over time, and seeing this with Spike feels both sentimental and hopeful. The story resonates with themes of growing up and embracing change, which have always been central to My Little Pony. This episode, packed with humor, action, and a great message, stands out as one of Spike's best. It captures multiple facets of his character while enriching the world of My Little Pony with fresh insights into dragon culture. With fantastic writing and memorable moments, it's a fulfilling chapter in Spike's journey and a highlight of the season. - Thank you for your reaction 💙 - P.S.: Talking about disgusting depictions of things... I was remembering about the time when shows like "Ren & Stimpy" (and others) got modern. These were absolutely gross and I absolutely don't understand why people liked them so much 😣

DeViruZz.eXe
