I can definitely see why you’d dislike it at first. But I also think there’s an inner child thing going on with applejack. Then it gets wholesome when she spends time with applebloom. Maybe a little uneventful but it was cute 😭

But over time I started to appreciate this story and its lesson, since not every massage should be some deep revelation to be good and impactful. The plot itself is super simple, yet in this simplicity hides its charm. AJ and Apple Bloom were just having fun with each other, that's all the episode is about, importance of sometimes spending quality time with your family and friends away from routine and chores, which means a lot too.
