This may be your longest one to date 😂😂😂. While the entire episode isn’t crazy, I think as you said it brings up interesting discussion about dragons/ponies, the information on them, and spikes identity. Not the best friends. At least Fluttershy said “nope I’m gone this episode” 😂 That costume was hilarious 😂😂😂 Amazing rarity moment. Like a mom suddenly who is willing to die for their child. Okay okay. Interesting with the spells Yes I agree!!! Good episode for spike! Hmm that’s a good question. I get like a best friend who’s your roommate vibe. 😂😂😂. Your finest work yet

The question about who you are and who you should be if you lost your identity is an age-old question which can't be answered easily and depends on the perception of oneself and how others see you. As for spike, it was always interesting to see a bipedal baby dragon with claws and a hunger for gems living together with all these ponies and learning all the pony-ways of living since he hatched from his egg. And when Spike was watching the Dragon-Migration he began to question himself if he is even supposed to be like a pony so to speak. Considering the episode "The Secret of my excess" (with greedy spike) and this episode where even twilight couldn't find any infos, it's abundantly clear, that nothing is ever known about Dragons by ponies at this point. And thus a journey of selfdiscovery begins. He participates in the migration and meets some teenage dragons, who he thinks he should be taking after. - Turns out these don't like "namby-pamby ponies" one bit... still, spike seeks their approval to learn the dragon-way and faces all the challenges to get into their group. It turns out well and he gets accepted just to experience that dragons aren't just rude - dragons (at least these ones) are downright dangerous and greedy jerks. They want to kill an unhatched phoenix for their own entertainment. - But Spike isn't having it - he decides to stand up for his upbringing and refuses to hurt another ones life. And escapes with his friends, who watched over him the whole time back to Ponyville. He learns, that it isn't important what he is supposed to be as a dragon and aknowledges his friends as his family. It´s heartwarming! And we get further worldbuilding: The Dragon-Lands, which seem to be quite some distance away, where there is even no train-track close by. - Considering all ponies fearing the dragons it's no wonder. These Dragons don't like ponies very much, i wonder if something happened between them? - This begs the question as to how Celestia even obtained this Dragon-Egg in the first place? These dragons seem to be unrestrained and independent from Equestria / Celestias reign. Some Phoenix-facts: - If you mess with them, they're able to retaliate with a strong flashing blaze. - They are mischievous from birth on - Philomena in "A bird in a hoof" wasn't the only one it seems. Some further thoughts: Fluttershy this time, instead of being dragged along, she outright said she doesn't want to be there and refused to come - that is a good progress since the "Dragonshy"-Episode The wave of migrating dragons looks cool - they even have different sizes and unique appearances - its beautiful in a way - Your comparison with skywatching a comet flyby was indeed fitting. Wow RD is outright "bullying" Spike :O and Rarity is belittling him XD - which leads to Spike having a midlife crisis as a baby dragon... talk about an early start. I don't think that was cranky, he had Cranky's old toupé and not the new yellow one made by Rarity. That dragon costume is wow... at least it's fireproof - you have to give Rarity credits for that and that she somehow designed it after Dragon that just looks like this ... uncanningly incredible... And brave spike gets to experience that he is Lavaproof! Yea, Hooligans... well at least Garble and his group seem to be... - but considering all the encounters so far i would say, they're all just greedy jerks in a way? You also are curious about, what that letter to twilight entailed which got thrown into Lava by Garble - Yeah me too. - I have a theory, but it would spoil to much. THEY WANT TO KILL A LIVING BEING (MURDER) - IN A KIDS SHOW! ... Dammit! ;D I love Rarity seriously saying "Fighting's not really my thing, I'm more into fashion, but I'll rip you to pieces if you touch one scale on his cute little head!" while preparing to kick some ass like a badass. The teleportation spell is Twilights signature spell. I dont know if you noticed it, but since the pilot, she often used it and got better and better with it. - This time it was a mass-teleportation of four over a long distance, that is impressive. - Thank you for your Reaction - and I am with you, the message wasn't ad deep as it should be (well, it's a kids show duh) but was still an important one in terms of spikes upbringing and experience so far. All he ever knew, he was taught by twilight and at some later time by their friends in Ponyville. And it was a nice episode about selfdiscovery and selfperception. Spike acknowledgeing his friends as family and the whole scene afterwards showing the pictures etc. was just sweet and wholesome. Still, it isn't clear what twilight is to spike - is she his mother, sister or something entirely else? - What do you think about it? wow... i am sorry, it got much longer than expected - i even removed a lot of points - i cant believe it 😅
