Yes it is the first occurrence of the word Alicorn - Since this episode everyone referred to the princesses as Alicorn's due to them representing and inheriting the strenghts of the 3 main races. (earth-, pegasus- and unicorn-ponies) Funny enough, the "Alicorn Amulet" was originally meant to be called the "Unicharm Amulet", but somehow it got exchanged to "Alicorn Amulet" which depicts it better. But noone told how that happened.

Ahh nice references and call backs! Yes! Immediately with talent and powers = Trixie Yes. Easily just has to be with my source and early animation. Hmm yes. Nice touch. Mouthless pinkie is not okay and also concerning. Ahhh okay thatβs good to know. I donβt feel Fluttershy has been more assertive since that episode so I just took it as that but I like that theory. Love me those 4th wall breaks Yes a much more subtle message which Iβm glad i caught and was satisfied with!

A mysterious figure roams in the deep rainy night through the alleys of Canterlot, seeking an Artifact... Trixie is back with the wish to get back at twilight for humiliating her and wins by using unfair means with said "Alicorn Amulet" Artifact, which boosts and corrupts Trixie in getting mean and nasty. The artifact is only able to be taken off by the wearer herself. The now banished and defeated Twilight seeks help from another reoccurring character, Zecora! She helps Twilight to improve her magic and has a plan to outsmart Trixie in her own game - Show-Magic Tricks by using the six! Her friends so to speak. Twilight wins the second duel and convinces Trixie to lay of said Amulet and contains it at a safe place. Also we get some kind of worldbuilding due to the appearance of envois of Saddle Arabia who look very horsy (is that a word?). And we are introduced to the "Alicorn Amulet", a mighty but dangerous artifact which boosts ones magic at a price of mnind-corruption. It strangely depicts a Pony with unicorn horn and pegasus wings... does it ring some bells as to why it's called that way and what this maybe means? (Hint: In the mythology, Alicorns are referring to Winged Unicorns.) - Some further notes/thoughts/facts: - Fluttershy standing up for her critter-friends and being fearful while said critters are happy as hell. Nice reference to "winter Wrap-Up": Spike: "Aww, don't worry, Fluttershy, Twilight's magic has gotten a lot better since she accidentally crushed me and Applejack with a giant snowball." It's nice to see how much Twilight improved her magic. Spike: "Your magic has really improved since we came to Ponyville, Twilight. Princess Celestia's going to love it." You were quick one to know it was Trixie. π She surely had to pay Snips and snails back... About her Design: Do you remember when i asked you about the strange saturated colors of the earlier episodes? - Maybe it was different because you had a bad source and remember this as your reference. She was humiliated by Twilight and do you remember the "ponyville confidential" episode? There was an article about her: "The Great and Powerful Trixie's Secrets Revealed!" - i think that also played an additional role, depicting Trixie to be a laughing stock. Trixie dislikes Rockfarms - And Pinkie, who was raised on one had to speak up and Trixie just deleted her snout?! How is Pinkie able to still get air? - nos eriously how does she survive that? And would it count as murder if she died? BTW. that male Pony in Trixies flashback was Pinkies Father. I love all the references to earlier episodes. And now to the advanced stuff... the age spell - that only the highest level unicorns should be able to pull off. Does this mean that all the highest unicorns live like ... forever? π€ Its nice to see Zecora again! - The training session was oddly similar... i cant put my finger on what exact. Wow, Trixie is really mean and cruel, turning everything upside down and torturing ponies, especially Snips and Snails. A dystopian Ponyville, i wonder how much time has passed... Originally Trixie was planned to come back in Season 2, but it got rescheduled... to season 3 - as to "why?" - it was nerver told. BUT this explains why Flutterhy is so introverted again, she technically didn't have the previous lessons. But in my head i thought about another fitting reason - It's caused by the depressive atmosphere under Trixies rule and that she is cut off from her cottage - her save haven as an intovert - which is outside the force-field. Wow... Trixie doesn't trust wheels? - that is such an flat-earther thing to say XD Nice escape-plan and a cute "disguise". Pinkie Pie playing 10 instruments isnt anything new - as you mentioned yourself XD Trixie got tricked by a fake Amulet (Zecoras Doorstop) - huh? Twilight won by using a mix of teleportation, smokes and screens, everything Trixie as a show-performer should have known :D Oh, Trixie is on a great and powerful trip again! :D Nice touch of apologizing by doing a great and Powerful Firework for the Saddle-Arabian Horses. The 4th wall break was great and unexpected! And this time with Twilight! XD --- It is as you said, it didn't have a visible message. It was more a kind of nice Fan-Service episode in which some old characters came back over an an old dispute, that had to be fought out. Additionally the second "magic" duel with the help of the mane six was a nice nod to the title: "Friendship is Magic". XD Overall a great episode and a great reaction π
