Oh gosh oh no, sorry for making so many comments on this episode, but it just hit me in a flood that Steven sees himself in Onion when he watches him greet his dad for a bit before he sails away right after. That's how he feels when the Gems are busy with missions and leave him behind, as we've already seen in many episodes. AUGH this is exactly why I rewatch this show, I always notice something new!

He for sure has a very non-conventional living situation with his son, and that definitely raises questions in early eps. I'm interested in seeing how your opinions on him evolve as I continue seeing more of the posted episodes.
